Gateway use without a boiler

Unfamiliar with Opentherm so I am not sure if it requires an active end to end acknowledge/handshake to work ? Or could I just attach this gateway to a 'thermostat' that outputs using the OT protocol and intercept its messages (with no boiler connected) ? My boiler does not currently have an OT inte...

Re: HS3 MQTT Plugin

Hi, I just wanted to say thank you for this plugin. I am using it with great results. I look forward to any future enhancements you might include, like JSON parsing and assigning those (potentially multiple) extracted values to (multiple) HS devices as that would be most useful to me too. Maybe I ca...

Re: Homeseer Script to monitor & Control ELV MAX! Thermostats

I'm just trying this script and getting the same error 'read data from transport' as previously mentioned. I can telnet repeatedly in fine. Martin - did you get yours running OK ? I'm trying to work out what this meant in Walters post in relation to editing the script - do I need to change something...

Re: Plugwise network range

With all things radio based there are potential things that impact a stable system. A loss of a fragile mesh path, RF interference (possibly even from WiFi) or a neighbour etc and even mains interference that might lockup a node. At a really flippant level we do have severe sunspot activity these la...

Re: Plugwise network range

The 'sometimes works / sometimes doesn't' is a very difficult issue to troubleshoot. Plugwise use a proprietary protocol layer on ZigBee which means you can't use standard network tools for diagnostics, and then they fail to provide you with alternatives. A network topology and node path analysis ut...

Re: Plugwise Topology Map

Plugwise responded to me saying they are no further forward (one year on) in being able to offer any network routing information. They just say place all circles within 10m of each other and ensure they are connected to at least two others. Which of course without the routing information you can't b...

Re: Plugwise Topology Map

I was just checking in to see if anyone from the forum had made any progress on this or found any way of retrieving node routing information. I have a largish network (40+) units and am currently using another 10 (!) plugwise units just as repeaters as it's a large property with walls over 1m thick....

Re: Daylight Saving Time

Thanks for that info , it will save me re-downloading all my schedules anyway. I don't have Source running as I typically use Plugwise Server although that isn't necessarily running all of the time either. Actually it was running overnight and I feel it should not require a restart but should notify...

Daylight Saving Time

The downloaded schedules still do not take account of daylight savings time. Mine are switching an hour late today. I guess you have to re-download them. I thought this was one of the bug fixes ... maybe it wasn't . It would be a good thing to handle correctly. It would also be nice to be able to sc...

Re: Plugwise Topology Map

Yes, this is an essential tool I think for creating robust networks so I do hope a solution is found. Currently I use 6 Plugwise modules just as repeaters and I am uncertain how many single connection paths / points of failure I have. Also IIRC there is a limit to the number of intermediate nodes in...

Re: License Code...

Hmmm - that doesn't really help as I've moved house - a load of boxes to unpack and may stay that way for a while. I am not sure that I remember a CD but there might well have been one. The packs I got more recently definitely don't have a CD included either... I assume you now have to download the ...

I wish to join the beta program - but I am not sure where my original license card is with the number on..
Is it possible to read the license number from the installed software .. ?
I couldn't see where ..

Re: Second stick or circle(plus) in the same network

Just for info the answer from Plugwise is no - you must manually reset all your circles / stealths if you replace the Circle+ - which is really laborious .... ( I don't believe there's a software way is there - would be a useful feature) Also no.. Circle + are only useable as Circle + and only one p...

Re: Plugwise Compatibility

Do you use or have you ever tried the XBee ZB modules or are you using the XBee proprietory mesh versions, in which case I might expect them to be independent ?

Plugwise Compatibility

I'm not too well versed technically on ZigBee but I have been considering adding the XBee modules to an embedded networked domotica controller that I have designed for xAP, HomeVision, 1-wire and C-Bus. I already have a large investment in the ZigBee based Plugwise modules (30+) and what i wanted to...
