Pieter,
I will release all the software as opensource shortly. Off course I will make some downloadable compiled versions so others can have a look (READONLY!!)
I have still two weeks of exams, but after that we'll start rocking!

@ snelvuur I originally bought the RFXCom equipment for the receiver (which is great if I may add!). Since I didn't know it at all, I also included a temp sensor for testing. Now, the RFXCom temp sensos does his work really good, but does not have the looks that work for me in my house. I therefor e...

Hi Pieter, This is a standalone application indeed. It's written in VS2005 using the Microsoft Compact .Net Framework 2.0 (size on PDA after compile is currently 102K). The communication between the mobile application and the house-system is run through the HTTP protocol over IP (so yes, flies throu...

I will have shortly a schematic avaible on cables and wiring in my house. This will include switching cabinets (as I have them) and electricity panels (I have two of them - one main and one specific for the kitchen as that one is 'very' automated). Hope you can wait a week or so okay. I have updated...

Hey Ron, The touchscreen is a TouchTronix model (check my site, Links section for more information on touchtronix). I have very good experience with that company! Super service, even overseas! The device has a power (EU type), USB (for the touchscreen controller) and a VGA video input. With me every...

Indeed! and euh ... I only started my project 5 months ago :) sometimes things may move very quickly! re, the switches: Eventually (and ideally) I would like to remove all traditional switches and replace them by tiny touchscreens (no bigger than a traditional switch). I am currently looking (lookin...

Using Rfxcom without Homeseer ?
Simply use the provided receiver program (source code from RFXCom) as a basis. Expand it with the calls/functions you need to log in you SQL database. I've added some classes to the program for different sensors, and when data received, the classes are populated and a 'saveToDB' method called. Works...

The leds in my Niko switches are constantly on. They are 220V leds, and I think they're supposed to be on all the time. I have the leds directly connected to the power feed behind the switches. The Niko leds exist in Blue and Red. I use blue for lichtswitches and Red for e.g. shutters - nice effect....

Hey Paul,
I don't realy know the XM10, but I'm using a CM11 USB interface which performs very well.

Thanks for feedback. I purchased the RFX equipment and have now mix of Oregon TGHR228N and RFX Probes running. I've rewritten the reader software as a service in windows which now logs the received reading automatically in a SQL server database. Result visible on my project page (section 'monitor')....
