Re: Aeon Z-Stick Series 2 Beginner's Question
Simply said: no. When you set up your network with the stick, and plug it in your pc you only have another COM port to readf rom / write to. Now, you can use some script (I have a php script for communicating with a zwave controller) to turn on / off lights, BUT when you switch the light with the lo...

Re: Where to start
Hi there, I would also suggest getting an RFXcom in there, it's one of the commonly used devices I've seen. For simple door/window reed contacts and motion sensors I also use a combination of X10 / KAKU devices. The kaku light relay switches are very fast if you have an RFXCom Transmitter and very c...

Re: Aeon Z-Stick Series 2 Beginner's Question
Hi Praha, To create your own zwave network, the controller and 1 light will be enough (although you'll be buying more light dimmers in no time :p) I have a few of the ACT ZDW-230's through my home because at the time these where the only ones that supported association with a primary controller. Wha...

Re: Searching for a cheap thin client.
I bought the HP thinclient (5720) from their a few weeks ago, it's great. They now only have the 5520 left but it's not that much difference.
It can run linux from USB stick fine, play h.264 movies on 720p even, and is running my webserver and HA for now.

Re: PC Adapters
I dont know the Zwave.Me, but I own a Aeon Labs and a ZCU-201 (pyramid). I have to say, the Aeon Labs is the best I've seen. When you disconnect it from your PC, You can use it as a primary controller to set up your network very easely, As soon as your done, you put the stick back in the PC and star...

Re: Need a new tv, wonder what forum members have
Richard allready beat me to it....
I went for an LG one half a month ago.... setting up the Serial Comms took the better part of ten minutes thanks to the wonderfull manual.
Just about all the discreet options I need (power, equalizer, inputs etc.) and reliable status.
No more IR for me anymore.

If i'm not mistaking, you don't wake up a device with a ping, maybe a magic packet or WOL depending on settings, but not just by pinging...

Re: Experience with dealextreme's android based tablest
+1 Had a smartv7 as well... the resistive touch is a dealbreaker for me these days. With cheap tablets you have little memory, old android version and resistive touch. Ive had my archos101 for 3 weeks now and cant go without it anymore. It replaced my main controll in the living room and my couch co...
