Does anyone happen to have any experience with this Z-wave doorbell?

Mhn,

Thanks for info. Google translate did its best, but still left me hungry for info.

Could I ask you some questions about it?

1. Is the Z-wave connection reliable from bell-button to its own inside unit?
2. Were you able to get it associated in Homeseer?
3. Any ideas about battery life?
4. Does "pushing-the-bell-button" feel solid and good, or weak & mushy like the cheaper plastic bell buttons you find in cheap shops?
5. Finally, would you use this product in your own house?

Thanks in advance! :)

Hi Olof.

Remember it's a long time since, I played with it. :-) Things might be better now.

1. Yes it was reliable. But when connected to a master, there were a (to) log delay between push and sound.

2. I didn't try HomeSeer. But I am quite sure, It can be associated. If Homeseer is able to send it a "basic on", I don't know.

3. No

4. I can't remember. I think it was ok.

5. As wireless doorbell yes. For HA it wasn't good enough 1½ years ago.

I hope it was a little help. :-) Unfortunately I only played with a demo, I never used it i daily life.

Regards

Take this with a grain of salt, but according to a specs PDF floating around the net:

Battery life: 1 year with ten triggers a day for the door unit, 1 year with 5 triggers a day for the bell unit when ringing up to 5 seconds.

Morten,

Thanks again for the information. Based on your feedback, I think I will wait with purchasing this thing.

Maybe somebody else will have a more recent experience?

Olof

In Norway, You can actually buy this set at Bauhaus, but it's OEM'd. And its in black/brown I think. Couple of months since I accidentally found it there while looking for some Intertechno stuff.

Product is stil not available for Holland...:(
There are some new products that also can be used as doorbell.
Like the new Fibaro module can be connected behind your existing doorbell

Hi Tane,

I think you are refering to the FGBS-001 module from Fibaro? When will it be available in your webshop, and what will it cost?
It's a realy versitile module, I can think of some good use for it. Are you planning to review this module when it comes, if so will you please check if it will work with Vera (Lite) ?

Patrick.

Fibaro FGBS-001 will be available next week price 40 euro (see the shop - sensoren-detectie)
I will give a short review ASAP

You can make lot of non zwave products zwave using FGBS-001
Like motion detectors door sensors and more.

Also very interesting is the ZME_ITEMP (Temperature-Dry-Input-Sensor)
