Fibaro universal sensor and doorbell

Hi,

Does anybody know how to wire up the Fibaro universal sensor with a doorbell ?
I want to use it for the videogate panel.
This is how the doorbell is wired at this moment.
It's a 9v powersupply and not a 6v as shown in the picture.

The universal sensor has IN and OUT contacts, so the sensor needs to be connected to the IN and the doorbell to the OUT. They aren't directly connected (the IN and OUT). Bare in mind, the OUT contact can only switch 150mA, which isn't enough for any doorbell (so use a relay contact?).

Thanks for your reply.
I don't know exactly how to explain it but the sensor only needs to send a z wave signal when the doorbell is pressed.
I did the same with a magnetic contact and there is nothing connected to the output.
When the contact is broken the sensor sends a signal like a motion detection and that's what i want to do with the doorbell.
I changed one of the parameters to NO (normally open), with a magnetic contact it's NC (normally closed)
There has to be way but i can't find it out.

If you only use a switch to send a z-wave singnal then your good to go, however my universal sensor it not sending direct updates to homeseer (or homeseer is not seeing them) I need to poll the device for status.


Reading the manual you should do the following

- Connect + on the P wire
- Connect - on the GND wire
- Connect one side of the switch on the GND wire also
- Connect one side of the switch on the IN1 wire

If you press the button the module should send a z-wave signal

I use a similar set-up to determine if the doorbell has been pressed.
Doorbell is connected to input 1. Output 1 activates a relais, which will ring the bell.

I was struggling with getting the status pushed to Homeseer. Status updates from a child device do not work as I expected them to work. I had to associate group 1 of the root device with Homeseer, which gives me instant status updates. Disadvantage; effectively you can only use 1 input.

@geert-jan: you got the same behavior as i have with DomotiGa+open-zwave r643

It seems this Fibaro device status updates for Input 2 can't be detected as Input 2, but it is reported always as Input 1. So we can't use them separately

Please can you explain more?
Do you have your solution connected an existing doorbell?
Have a drawing of your implementation, mayby i can use it to implement this in my house.

I wil try to make a schema later on


It is connected the following way

- Doorbell button connected to input1 and 2 of the K2633
- Dingdong connected to relay 1 of the K2633 (so pressing button rings bel)
- relay1 connected to K8055 (closing input 2)
- input2 is my input for homeseer. in such a way that the doorbell is working as long as K2633 is available (I don`t need HomeSeer to know there is someone at the door)

That would be great. I now use a kaku doorbell but i prefer using my existing doorbell with trafo in the fuse box
