Eaton stops XanuraHome production?

There is good support for zwave in Homeseer when using the supported PC interface.

Merten, Homepro, popp and all the other zwave modules are compatible with any other zwave module.

Enver thanks, that is what I was hoping for.

@digit: this requires additional wiring, correct? This is just what I was trying to prevent by choosing Xanura, the variety in modules available is also what attracted me.

From what i know (i'm no Xanura expert, i only have 2 SAIX and a IMX) not different from Xanura. Most modules need L and N. So if you were planning Xanura that shouldn't be a problem. All modules can send ACK on a command. Disadvantage is that they don't transmit local changes, so you need to poll for that.

And try to use the best of all available worlds :-)

I can confirm that: Marmitek modules offer the exact same functionality as their Xanura counter parts. Some Xanura features are not specified in the Marmitek documentation, but they are present and functional. Check this thread too:

Just curious: Has marmitek used the techn. from xanura? Its like marmitek has bought a license from xanura.

As I was planning to update my new house to Xanura, this whole tread makes me think twice about buying a complete Xanura installation. Now my attention shifted a bit towards KNX/EIB Powernet. Does anyone of you have any experience with this system? As far as I can see, it combines a main advantage of KNX (future proof) with the big advantage of X10/A10 (small modules, data over 230V). Maybe this is a new option for me.

That's not completely true, when you press several times in a few seconds the button from a Marmitek dimmer, it goes into it's program mode. The only way to abort is to disconnect the power. Xanura doesn't have this problem, because the have a small program button.

I'm not sure about the new Marmitek modules.

KNX Powernet works the same like X10/A10 in a way that Powernet transmits data over 230V and needs no extra wires besides the normal LNE wirering everyone uses for the power outlets.

KNX/EIB Powernet indeed uses the power lines for communication. The problem is that there is only hardware available from two suppliers. Busch Jaeger being one of them.

I have a KNX/EIB system in our house. It's a wired system that uses the green 2pair EIB cable. This type of cable is a bit thick so wiring can be a challenge in existing houses.

Most of my hardware I bought on ebay.de but it's still is a bit on the expensive side if you ask me. Especially dimmers.

If you know what you are doing and plan ahead it can be a DIY job. The biggest challenge for me was getting ETS3 which you need to program the system.

Misterhouse has support for EIB and I'm working on support for DomotiGa. I have switching and dimming working here atm.
