KAKU power usage

Just out of curiousity, has anyone ever measured the power usage of KAKU devices? I assume some of the senders (remote, wall switch, etc.) remain in sleep mode untill triggered. but the receivers need to listen for commands constantly (or don't they).
If I had some plugwise-like devices (I'm still considering) I would definitely try this myself. But since I don't (yet), I was wondering if anyone else had done this :D.

the use a several watt ( like 3 a 4 )

No kidding? That sounds like quite a lot for what, a small microcontroller and an RF radio? I wasn't expecting low consumption like the JeeNode with RF or an Arduino with XBee... but 3-4 W? I'm sure some of us can do better then that ;-).

the latest A series use +/- 0,5 watt

:D that sounds a lot better. And that at a cost of uhm.... nothing :-P. What supplier are you using? ;-)
But 0.45W at 220V is about 2mA. I haven't seen an RF receiver yet that uses only 2mA. E.g. the HopeRF RFM12B used on the JeeNodes consume 22MA on Tx and 11mA on Rx (according to HopeRF that is). Does this mean KAKU devices aren't listening constantly?

From their website (the FAQ)

Hoeveel bedraagt het stroomverbruik van het controlelampje in stand-by positie?
Het stroomverbruik is minimaal, namelijk ca. 0,5 Watt per uur ofwel ca. 4,5KWh per jaar.

:shock: damn, never thought of looking there.
The control LED is pretty annoying by the way, especially in the dark but also when the room lighting is in a more romantic theme. For the WAF I'm gonna have to put some ducktape over the LED's...
