Hello,
I was wondering if you guys could help me out. At the moment I have a "hacked" standard door videophone that was described some time ago by Peter. It works, but the mic is acting up and I'm not really happy with the camera quality.
I've been looking for a door unit that has a button that can be connected to a the bell and a camera that I can use to see who is outside. I only have a few wires available and was hoping that there would be an affordable (keyword ) IP device available on the market.
Do you have any ideas?
Kind regards,
Remko.

I don't know of a device exactly as you describe (connecting to the old doorbell directly and be ip) but you should have a look at the video intercom that Mobotix recently came out with, it costs a few euros (798ex+sip client/phone), but has one of the better cameras (180 view):
http://www.mobotix.com/dut_NL/Producten ... -intercom2 It also has some additional optional modules, like an i/o module which probably could be used to connect the old bell if that's really necessary.
Good luck

Hello Esteban,
I'm looking exactly for the device you mentioned, but the price tag is a bit steep
Does anyone know a similar device, but for less money?
Kind regards,
Remko.
