AWMR-230 with AWST-8800

Postby Darwusch » Sun Jan 22, 2012 2:17 pm

Hi,
I'm using a AWMR-230 receiver with a AWST-8800 transmitter.
When I switch off a lamp with it, the power is slowly going to zero. When I switch it on, it slowly brightens to maximum.
Is it possible to use this combination and make it switch instantly, in stead of slowly?
The receiver is not a dimmer, so I don't really understand this behaviour.

The AWMR is just an ON/OFF reciever so there shouldn't be any dimming functionality. (The AWMR210 is a dimmer)
Do you use a power saving lamp or such?

I use an old fashion incandescent light of 60 W.
When I use a saving lamp, it flickers when the switch is off so that's not possible.

Wierd.
I think the unit is defect then.

It's not defect. I wrote this issue to Klikaanklikuit, and here's their answer:

So it's not a bug, it's a feature...
But it means that you can not switch most saving lamps with it!

I guess you'll have to use the same system as with a fibaro dimmer, some sort of bypass.
Switching them on and off probably will still flicker, but when they're off they won't.
Seeing that the TS uses incandescent it shouldn't be a problem...

That means you can use CFL lamps (spaarlampen) but they have to be 'dimmable' CFLs which are quite expensive.

But do check out the compatibility overview on the kaku website because you might find a reasonably priced CFL that works.

Cannot speak for the awmr-230(only have the awmr-210) but with a fibaro dimmer I can use a non-dimmable CFL. For this I disabled the dimmer-function and dim-levels however. Dunno how it works with the dimmable variant.
