RGB Controler 20 euro

@Chak: I had a look at the user manual. However, it seems, at least to me, that you do not have direct control when using the USB connection. As I understand you can only program the 2 user defined programs using the USB controller. When there is an affordable solution to hookup a controller to Homeseer without using IR, I volunteer to create a plugin for it.

@mgizmo: I did, but I didn't. First of all, the guy is not taking new orders. Second he cannot deliver his initial orders because his supplier does not deliver the components. Third this is a kit to mimic ambilight and that is not what I want to do, so I doubt this is the right kit for me.

@rene: true, new orders can be placed after the current one, delivery problems with selektvracht (see last posts on that forum), kit is indeed mimic for ambilight, but if you would only buy the "basis kit" you can select every color of the SMD LEDs with the USB cable. So the basics is just a normal controller (with four outputs).

When I invest some time to create a plugin it would be great of the plugin can be used by people all over the globe instead of people owning a homegrown hardware device or able to build one. Is there no USB or LAN connected RGB controller available on the market at an acceptable price.

Hi Rene,

What about using the Arduino as the PWM interface to the led strips? It offers PWM on board, as I understand. Creating a plugin for driving the PWM ports on the Arduino could also be a neat first step in what may be a very interesting direction: a generic plugin for control of the Arduino ports from Homeseer.

Just a thought...

This could be interesting indeed. However, I have some doubts regarding the amount of time I have available. If I would go this way not only do I have to spent some time creating the plugin, but also in creating the hardware. So if somebody volunteers to make this a joined effort you are more than welcome.

@Rene and Enver,

Maby we can arrange some time and discued the products you want.

We have mani different controllers on stock , and also a direct link to our supplier.

I think DMX would do the trick you want , but there are some other options I guess.

Enver coffee milk and sugar and a cake and I open for discussion :-)

The 20 euro controller from Conrad is not doing what I want. and the power consumption is very high +/- 5 watt
Even the Chromofelx was better.

What Rene reported is also a problem...USB is just for programing and not controlling
I will stay with the IR version for now...and hope to find a good controller in the future.

@Marco
I hope the new IR control has option of direct jump to the selectmen program..with one IR comamnd

Well, i am still a hapy camper with my chromoflexes.
Is there a specific reason why you guys dont go for chormoflex ?

Problem with ir ( even with chromoflex wich uses philps tv codes ) is that its unpredictable or other ir devices are on the same code.

Here i got 4 chromoflexes connected to one serial port.

Estebans cccp.exe i can control anything from hsttouch. Small bonus on the cromoflex are programs like ambiligther or the winamp plugin that makes a real disco.
