Together we developed this app, the design and idea is by Bwired.

yes the battery life will decrease if GPS is always on, but normally in the car its better on adapter. (but you have to be carefull)
Also there are functions in there that saves battery. for example if you put the tracking to the background screenupdates are not done.
Also uploading points very 10 meters is not a smart setting. When i track in my car, i set it to 500m or 1km.
There is also a setting "upload on turn" so if you turn like 40 degrees a gps point will be stored.

Nice for us is that we can use the XML for Domotica as well
here is a sample XML which is generated by the Btraced App
This you can route to any server you like!

An option to record "faster" while it is charging and going back to "regular" when it is off the power would be nice (if thats not already in there)

we have a list of features already we want to add in next release
like taking pictures and upload those too
more social media etc.

Ability to poll the device for a accurate reading.. should be possible by last known ip perhaps.

Or perhaps make a nice php gui for "hobbyist" people, that you can also say if xx close in range of then alert.. well anyway you can make all kinds of crazy stuff.
