What time span are we talking about here? 10 Days or 10 years?
This is NOT good News. I have at least 3 broken modules per year, until now all covered by warrenty, but if they become scarse prices will go up.

This News is even worse: RF is a serious security risk, not to mention privacy. X10 is unreliable, but at least it's tamper proof.
In fact, my Xanura system is so unreliable that it's not usable at all. I offered Eaton to remove everything from my house and ship it back for a refund. I didn't do that because removing >35 units is a LOT of work, but if there's no future in the system it may be the most sensible thing to do.

Maybe that the exact reason why they stop?
Too much repair/broken modules are reported?

so alternative all over to knx?
Eaton stops XanuraHome production?
nope, don't think that's the main reason. More likely because of collaboration / integration of Moeller. Won't make 2 different systems if both have "same" functionality and market approach. Xcomfort works also on "same" HCB, but has more products in range than Xanura + allready more established in more european countries. Hope they have more / same functionality now.

can't compare KNX to Xanura / Xcomfort or others. Advantage of Xanura / Xcomfort = existing wiring / houses + less complex to program.
KNX = more expensive, more possibilities, more certain for the future, more difficult in programming, preferrable new buswiring, ...

X10 is history. Come on. That's why i started all the ZWave topics. Im looking more into the Merten stuff, but it needs a 6 cm deep box. Who has those in their current house?

X10 might be history (it is at least ancient), but the A10 protocol from xanura is a bit better and for most people reliable enough. I am not going to replace everything in my house because xanura is no longer available. It will be a gradual process and I am not sure what will replace it in the future. One thing about homeseer is that multiple protocols can exist together and still be called from the same application. It's a shame if you have to support multiple protocols, but it's not a problem I can't overcome.

Don't want to pay 800 Euro for an HCB which is just a MisterHouse ripoff.
Thanks to Merdeka/Timo the next version of DomotiGa will have KNX/EIB support for EIB1 and EIB2 type devices, more are following

How about Z-wave support, that is not included in the DomotiGa. Have you tested LinuxMCE? I'm planning on using that.

I have looked at LinuxMCE when it was called Pluto Home, found it promising, but just as clutered as Misterhouse was.
That's why I started to build something form scratch resulting in DomotiGa, maybe Z-Wave is the next protocol supported, but have to look out for not getting as much clutered as the ones I rejected because of that fact
Sorry for being a bit off topic.

Xcomfort works well and is much better than A10...P2000 system was also much better than VHS.
In this open world closed system will make no chance.
I have about 50 A10 modules and 35 Plugwise and some zwave.
If I had to start from scratch what are the alternatives.
A10 (rip 2009)
Zwave (big alliance)
Ziggbee (growing...)
KXN (reliable and professional not usable for the existing buildings)
Xcomfort ???

Indeed as I already stated in another topic, in feb next year I will be starting the wiring and all electrics in my new watervilla, I was planning on Xanura, but this whole discussion has thrown this overboard [:D]
I'm glad I only bought some block filter modules for the wiring closet.
So now the real question is what's next? I specially liked the build in modules and everything fits in a 50mm wallbox.
Is there any other system supporting the same functionality? (Marmitek without status check is not a real alternative)
Regards, Maarten.
Never let a computer know you're in a hurry.

You could also consider PLCBUS. I have recently increased the number of modules to 15. It works fine for me.

Enver,
The HomePro link is the same as the Popp's, however will Homeseer support the zwave devices and are the Popp switches usble with the Merten modules.... just some of the questions that pop to mind.
Regards, Maarten.
