Post by john9889 »

Hi all,

i have a device that can be controlled by a com(rs232) cable (rj25, 2 wires for data).
i would like to be able to connect to that trough zigbee,rf,or any other wireless technology.

does anyone know how to accomplish this?

kind regards,

Could it be done with this one?
https://www.antratek.nl/xbee-explorer-serial
(in Dutch, I'm afraid, but I bet there's a English site where it can be found as well).

best,

Do you really need the RS232 voltage levels, or can you also use TTL? In that case you can take a look to an ESP8266 module and a firmware like "Serial Transparent Bridge" (or put a MAX232 in between).

Antratek has also a commercial off-the-shelf solution available btw.
