Vera vs. Z-Wave

So folks, what is your opinion - which one would you pick? If you did so - what are prons and cons.

Vera is a hub and zwave is a protocol. Not sure you can compare them. Vera supports zwave. I haven't used the Vera hub but use HomeSeer which also supports zwave. There are quite a few users on the HomeSeer boards that used to use a Vera and were unhappy with it. What are you trying to automate?
