Motion Sensor Outisde - which to buy?

Post by DJF3 »

What options do I have to place a motion sensor outside? (weather proof)

I have an RFXCOM for X10/Oregon/Visonic

Thank you!

I use the MS13.
Not sure what Chak is suggesting with the 220v.
The one I have runs on batteries.

If you already have a good motion sensor just connect the saix12/aix12 behind the current 220v sensor and you have your trigger in HS.

MS13 too with batteries. I use IKEA batteries, very low price! They are since 2 months at -2 , -7 C and still working. About weather protection: not sure they are IP66 full, i put them in those little plastic houses for birds where they have bath......perfect to locate on trees!

Me too - MS13 with batteries. They are supposed to be waterproof but keeping them under shelter is probably a good idea. They work perfectly with an RFXCOM receiver. Since they contain a day/night sensor in them too, you might want to position them away from any lights they control!
