Re: using ds18b20 for return water temp

Or look at adding a cheap ESP8266 to do this - plenty of already created projects to do just that (e.g. instructables.com/id/Simple-Example-Ard ... 66DS18B20/ or http://robertoostenveld.nl/arduino-ds18b20/)

Re: [Sold/Verkocht] - Opentherm Gateway with ESP8266 WiFi

.. OTGW can be reset from ESP-Link interface (no need to open case or reset button) how did you achieve this functionality? Can you please post details how to wire ESP8266 together with OTGW to be able to reset it from esp-link? many thanks in advance. Very easily. Connect one of the RST pins on th...

[Sold/Verkocht] - Opentherm Gateway with ESP8266 WiFi

As I have now connected my boiler directly, I have little/no use for the OTGW I built in December. It has been connected and running without issue since built. Modifications from the original spec include upgraded transformer, ESP8266 (Adafruit) with ESP-Link. OTGW can be reset from ESP-Link interfa...

Re: Voltage on Reset Pin (RST)

It is now connected up to GPIO#5 on an Adafruit Huzzah Breakout loaded with ESP-Link and didn't blow up yet. Remote reset is now fully functional and working. Will update status in a few weeks/months The good News is that its still going strong 1-week after hooking it up. There is not bad News to r...

Re: Voltage on Reset Pin (RST)

The PIC16F88 data sheet specifies that the minimum voltage on the MCLR pin should be at least 4V for normal operation. So a regular output pin of an ESP8266 would not work. However, according to this article , the ESP8266 I/O pins are 5V tolerant and will not clip the input to 3.3V. So, using an ES...

Re: Remeha control using RS232 port

Scrap the previous post's code - I've made quite some changes and updates and decided it better to maintain a current version on Github (https://github.com/rjblake/remeha)

Voltage on Reset Pin (RST)

Just wanted to check and make sure regards resetting the OTGW. If I short the RST pins, gateway resets (no problem). I was looking to connect to the GPIO pin on an ESP8266 so I could reset remotely (if needed), but from what I can determine from the circuit diagram, it guess I'm looking at 5VDC on t...

Re: Remeha control using RS232 port

So the long and the short of it is that the exercise was fairly simple in the end - at least to get the reported data from the Remeha Calenta - no need for fancy Remeha cables as a simple 5VDC ESP8266 will do the exact same job. Wire up to an RJ10 connector and you're in business. I found various re...

Re: OTGW, Calenta, Toon and Setpoint override not working

My bad - I wrongly assumed that by updating the "Room Setpoint" in Domoticz, it simply updated the value of this on the Toon. I guess what it is doing is sending this change to the Toon, which in turn adjusts the control setpoint, etc. Even if I do hack the Toon, from what I understand, I ...

Re: otgw partslist

Damn! I went and splurged on a more expensive transistor (well, only €0.16 more) - part number 563804 - 89. I also installed the RECOM R-78E5.0-0.5 DC/DC-converter, print 24 V/DC 5 V/DC 500 mA (part 157954 - 89) and used the EI 30/15,5 printtransformator VB 2 VA Primair: Secundair: 2 VA VB 2,0/1/15 ...

Re: OTGW, Calenta, Toon and Setpoint override not working

@hvxl - many thanks for the explanation. My bad, as I thought OTGW injected the OT commands so would override thermostat values; but (if I understand correctly) this is only valid where the thermostat supports the 'remote override room setpoint'OT ID. I am using the 'Toon Setpoint' to adjust my temp...

OTGW, Calenta, Toon and Setpoint override not working

Have installed my OTGW together with a Remeha Calenta 40C and Toon Thermostat. In Domoticz, I tried to use the Room Setpoint device to override the temperature and fire up the heating, but it didn't work. Launched the OT Monitor (after shutting down Domoticz) and tried to send a TT=26 command to tur...

Re: Remeha control using RS232 port

While on the subject of the RS232 port, has anyone taken a look at the Remeha Smart Service Support tool? I see it has a WiFi interface and curious if it can be connected up to Domotica systems for even more control than Opentherm allows. Alternatively, I'm trying to come up with a device that'll p...
