Re: Important! Upgrade to 5.49.16 ASAP for rooted and subscription Toons!
I'm doubting what to do. I didn't update my toon2 recently to keep the supply and return temperature measurements of my boiler available. Does not upgrading now mean I will be stuck on this version forever. Please advice. Not upgrading now means no official upgrades in the future anymore. Two comme...

Re: Toon App: Water
Slightly off topic but nonetheless related: any suggestions for a small (cheap, aliexpress?) housing for the wemos?

Re: Toon App: Water
Still no luck with updating via the GUI, also not with the new 1.3.2 version. After selecting the file and pressing "Update Firmware" nothing happens. You are using the wemos version? What version are you on now? It takes ab. 20 seconds to upload before the succes message will show. I'm o...

Re: Toon App: Water
Indeed this is the wemos firmware. To update: Use the online update function (download the .bin and use the update button on the wemos webpage) OR Reflash the wemos using usb cable. Trying to update from 1.1.11 to 1.2.0 via de update function. Selected the downloaded bin, ToonWater2_version_1.2.0.i...

Re: Toon App: Water
Super. I did not know the meter has a magnet. Good solution and thank you for sharing. I think the 10kOhm resistor is not needed since i used the internall pullup. Just GND and D2 should do the trick. I was not sure and adding the pull-up later would be more of a hassle. Just checked: it works with...

Re: Toon App: Water
Today I finally had some time solder together the "sensor" to read out my Elster water meter. The nice thing about this meter is that it has an opening to put in a reed contact which gives you 2 pulses per 1 liter of water used. Below a short description of what I did as it could be useful...

Netvoeding Toon

Re: Toon2 display very dim during daytime
Thanks for looking into this. I would love to make a side by side picture, but today accidentally dropped the 24v adapter that powers the toon via the ketel module and now it is dead. So I first need to find a way to get a new one to power up the toon1...

Re: Toon2 display very dim during daytime
This is what it looks in daylight from a good viewing angle: https://i.imgur.com/ac7YKjj.jpeg It is a lot less bright then the Toon1 I had before and also the viewing angle is worse. Even my wife and kids directly noticed it. Is there anything I can check on the ambient light sensor / settings / whe...

Toon2 display very dim during daytime
Hi Guys, I just upgraded to a Toon2. I'm very happy with the speed, but not so happy with the fact that the screen is barely readable in dim state during daytime. In the settings it cannot be set to any value higher then 10%. Is this normal? Should the Toon2 automatic brightness control? (which in m...
