Just an update.
The PIC was indeed unusable and PICKIT 3 clone was good.
I've ordered other PICs from microchip site (pre-programmed, you never know...) and they were immediately read without any problem
Thanks to everybody for the support

Re: PIC programming through PICKit3 (clone)
Good idea, but, no, unfortunately I don't have other PICs.
Let's buy a new PIC
, maybe that explain everything!
Thanks, I'll keep you updated on the result

Re: PIC programming through PICKit3 (clone)
I've removed every other component and checked the connections several times and to be super sure that my breadboard wasn't playing with me I've also detached the connector from the PICKIT3 side and with a multimeter I've checked the connection of the first 5 pin, directly touching the pin of the PI...

PIC programming through PICKit3 (clone)
as stated in other post I've somehow corrupted the firmware in my PIC16F88. So I bought a PIC Programmer (it's just an amazon's "user rated" PICKIT3 clone) and tried to read it with MPLAB X IDE v3.65 (and MPLAB IPE). I've turned on the "Power target circuit from PICkit3" option a...

Re: Firmware upgrade
Hi Schelte thanks for directions. I've just tried what you suggested. After having uploaded the new NodeMCU FW and reinstalled the NodeMCU on the otgw board I've pressed the FLASH button and the wifi led light up steady, then after a couple of sec it started to blink quickly. No other led on the who...

Re: Firmware upgrade
Well, It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious . I had to downgrade the firmware, actually I was using "debug firmware" directly written by Schelte that managed a Msg differently and obviously the new one wasn't working but I thought I could give it a try....

Re: Firmware upgrade
You're the saviour of my PIC and I'm an (happy) idiot.
Needless to say, you were right, I was just missing... THE POWER to the Board !!!
Thank you very much now I'm in a hurry to try the new feature and see if it fixes the instabilities on Home Assistant!
THHHHANK YOU.

Re: Firmware upgrade
Sorry I forgot to mention this, when I tried to program through FTDI I've short-circuited the two RST pin in the middle of the board, but it had no effect. Yes, I've moved the two jumper toward the right, near the PIC. I'm now pretty sure there was some WiFi hiccup, it WAS a stable connection but I'...

Firmware upgrade
I've tried to update the firmware on my OTGW (nodoshop ver) through WiFi. I've downloaded the latest OTMonitor and connected it through TCP port. It started and went to like 6% (not sure) then stop. Probably my WiFi connection had an hiccup exactly then! :) I've tried again but OTMonitor briefly sai...

Re: Connection to BRAHMA thermostat and "EMMETI" boiler
Good News first: IT WORKS maybe not everything but it started to work!! Thank you genius!! Bad News then: I wasn't able to copy Alternative ID's with magnifying glass, so I went to the path you described, issuing: DA=25 DA=25 (two times, just in case) KI=2 KI=2 (two times, just in case) UI=2 AA=25 B...

Re: Connection to BRAHMA thermostat and "EMMETI" boiler
THANK YOU very much for your effort Schelte, is much appreciated! I know I'm late with my reply, the seasonal flu hit my familiy, both my wife and daughter, I'm just waiting for my turn :-) No, I didn't know the boiler have that service bit on, I'm still not able to decode those messages properly. I...

Re: Connection to BRAHMA thermostat and "EMMETI" boiler
Changed again! Or at least it does look different to me. No more begging for date and time, but still the thermostat can't connect 23:26:14.662944 Command: PR=M 23:26:18.696161 Command: GW=1 23:26:19.914307 Command: GW=0 23:26:22.248275 Command: GW=1 23:56:44.262625 80190000 23:56:44.781566 B40191E0...

Re: Connection to BRAHMA thermostat and "EMMETI" boiler
Something has changed!! I've issued AA=25 and restarted the boiler (it wouldn't connect to the OTGW without restarting). Then I've connected the thermostat but the thermostat wouldn't connect, keep saying "Connecting...". After about a minute a button on the thermostat turned red, to indic...

Re: Connection to BRAHMA thermostat and "EMMETI" boiler
I've tried to: 1. disconnect thermostat 2. shutdown boiler and otgw 3. power up boiler 4. wait for connection (and I believe it connected succesfully) 5. Issue UI=2 6. connect thermostat Unfortunately it doesn't seems to work, or maybe I've misunderstood you I've tried the same thing with some (prob...
