Re: New development Active RFID

Hello Edwin, can you explain more precisely how you would connect a z-wave module and the PC module and then how to control the led driver? To prevent misunderstandings, the PC module does not use the z-wave protocol, they only make use of the same frequency-band (868MHz). However, these systems do ...

Re: New development Active RFID

The reason I've added LED-control to the RFID project is that it was possible to use the same technology, while I like to have LED-control for my own home. With most (affordable) products it was not possible to control several LED-strips in different places from a single point and also using high fr...

Re: New development Active RFID

Hi, I know it has been very silent for the last year, because I spent most of my spare time working on the RFID project. I've been busy developing new RF products, based on the original RFID concept. The new products are also remote controllable devices like LED drivers for RGB LED-strips. The plans...

Re: New development Active RFID

Hi Tiz, and all others, The main three reasons to develop our own active RF-ID is to make it affordable, usable and reliable. So yes, the plans are unchanged: it will be cheaper and we can make it exactly according to our (the home-automation community) wishes. It communicates with Homeseer, later o...

Re: New development Active RFID

Hi, I'm still alive and I've also been busy with the RFID. At the moment I'm spending my free time working on a contract-based project. (After an expensive move to my new house, I could need some extra money to pay the development of the RFID...) The project should be finished by the end of this mon...

Re: New development Active RFID

Still very busy refitting our new home (like placing a new kitchen...) and spending too much time and money like every one does after moving to a house of your dreams...

Re: New development Active RFID

Thanks, Esteban! and yes, I do this project for fun, but I would like to keep the promises I make.
So I can't give any time-frame now, but I will finish this project as soon as I have the time for it.

Re: New development Active RFID

Dear home-automation friends, As some of you already may know, the RF-ID project has been delayed for several months. The reason was very good News for my and my family, because we (finally) sold our house. It also took a lot of time to find the house of our dreams, and yes, happily we did! :) We sp...

Re: New development Active RFID

Yesterday Robert (Digit) and I had a very useful discussion at my place, where we agreed about the serial communication protocol. Robert will make the HomeSeer plug-in to communicate with the RF-ID base-station. (Thanks again, Robert!) The protocol is going to be open and publicly available, so if d...

Re: New development Active RFID

Thanks Marco,
Even though the smaller prototype-series will be hand-made, eventually this can save me a lot of drill time!
(And the cases will look more professional, I guess... )

Re: New development Active RFID

As I said, the expectation is to have the first products available before the end of January 2010.
There are already enough volunteers where I can place the first kits for test-purposes, thanks!

Re: New development Active RFID

I have received the cases for building-in the RF-ID Base-station!
The outside dimensions will be (L x W x H) 100 x 50 x 25 mm.
So it's a small case that can easily be placed wherever you like.

Re: ARM architecture support

Hi Merdeka, is the 15MB memory usage for the complete application including your Linux distro, or only for the Domotiga server with drivers? If it's only for the Domotiga server, what is the complete memory usage for your whole system, including Linux?
