Re: 1-wire project for a new house
As a humidity sensor is measuring humidity of the air and the humidity does not transform so easily through solids as temperature does then I think that you should not cover it. You have to actually consider quite carefully in what place does the reading represent the room humidity the most - I.e. i...

Right, a watertap that requires reading an user manual before operation. Possible usage senario: "Where is the manual, I do not remember how to turn it off.". I would suggest voice controlled watertap. Possible usage senario: "Darling, with who are you talking there?", "Nobo...

Re: Wireless KNX
In my opinion wireless KNX is waste of money because it does not provide any encryption. But so are almost all other wireless technologies pretty much exept Zigbee. I do not have any experience but my electrician claims that KNX TP (twisted pair) solution can actually work over normal power line wir...

More ideas or do I miss something?
I'm moving into implementation phase of my electricity system and because I desided to do the most of the works on my own with help from my friend and in supervision of the profecional electrician then it appears that I do have more degree of freedom on what to really implement or prepare (compared ...

Re: Cheap KNX devices
Zennio 4 sensors input for temperature measurement - 101,15 € (as far as I read the maximum cable length for the sensors is 1,5m, I need about 10m) I think that this is not true. Check this http://www.zennio.com/images/stories/zennio/eng/doc_tecnica/sondas/Technical_Note_Temp_Probes_Eng_Ed1.pdf It ...

Re: Cheap KNX devices
Is there a KNX module that can read 1-wire temperature and humidity sensors? There is a product named Wiregate but it is quite expensive (about 300 euro) so I think that it defeats the purpose. Voltus has Elsner temp+rH sensor http://www.voltus.de/schalterprogramme/knx-eib/elsner/eib-knx/elsner-701...

Re: Cheap KNX devices
some kind of central heating control for 5 (or 4 points if the price is too high for 5). I don't need fancy wall thermostats, I just need a DIN module for temperature sensors and thermostat logic (or maybe I could do the logic in some application software that drives relays?). You can consider Zenn...

Re: Cheap KNX devices
Eibmarkt links do not work (you actually should replace the session id in the url with the valid one but I do not bother and I'm using eibhandel.de instead). With inputs it depends what voltages you need. I guess that you want to connect switches? Then MDT is not a good option. With a bit more money...

Re: Bump key / klopsleutel
Any domotica solutions to have prove that somebody used these keys to empty your house without leaving a trace? I belive that is would be rather hard to empty your house without you noticing it. But seriously talking, I suddenly do feel urgent need to the key that does use cryptography instead of m...

Re: Domotic Thesis questions
My personal opinion that not a single product has made it into the normal households. A lot of people seem to have a simple kika set for triggering things like lights outside ... but that's it.. I think that this is not true. There are many normal households that have just used professional install...
