I have used the information on the mentioned url to flash the wemos d1. I missed the info about port 25238 :-(

I don't use MQTT yet. I just responded to Schelte's advice. If you have any ideas about this, I'd love to hear it.

Schelte, Thanks for your response! You are right about nmap. By default the first 1000 ports are scanned. These are the so-called "well known ports". I ran a new scan with; nmap -p 1-65535 -T4 -A -v 192.168.178.47. Nmap now recognizes tcp port 25238 as open and even displays a fingerprint ...
