Re: RooWiFi Roomba WiFi control

For me it seems to work stable now. The only big issue I had was the device being expunged by an obstacle in the room. I haven't found the culprit yet, but I suddenly found my roowifi laying around somewhere in the room.

Re: RooWiFi Roomba WiFi control

I've had the chance to hook up the device. It seems to be working like it should.
I left it on the roomba during the night and this morning it was still responsive. I'll check the heat with my finger tonight and see how it goes.

Tonight I'll have a go at some json scripts for the fibaro HC.

Re: RooWiFi Roomba WiFi control

I just received a beta testing board from Xavier. I'll report back how it's working. I'm planning to test it out tomorrow.
Initial testing when I plugged it in: it's way way colder. I can touch it without burning my fingers!

Regards,

Jelle

Landis+Gyr E350 (ZCF120ABdFs2)

Hi guys, I have this setup running for a month now and forgot to link back a small bit of data which seems to set this device apart from most other smartmeters. the RXD port for this device does not need to be inverted to work properly. It actually prevents it from working at all. For the rest of it...

Re: motor blind control and procents dimlevel not working

Sorry to perhaps state the obvious, but perhaps you've already taken this into account. When you're using blinds for sunscreens etc keep in mind that the roll-down is faster then the Roll-up phase. (at least, it' is in my case). So when working with percentages to manage an analog motor, you'l proba...

Re: RooWiFi Roomba WiFi control

123unlock, you don't have any heat issues? What Roomba are you working with? My setup is a Roomba 780 and it probably runs a higher output voltage or something. The little black block <triac?> (don't know the english word) that diverts the excess current to the GND is running dangerously hot with me...

any idea to fix or change this?
I defined a static lease for the roowifi in my ISC DHCP server.

Re: RooWiFi Roomba WiFi control

<sorry for the delay, I wasn't watching the topic and it slipped my mind> It slipped mine too  I'm not sure, but I don't think my problems were not heat related, although it does get hot :( Wifi settings not being accepted, things like that. I'll try to dig in my memory (which is a bit rusty ...

Re: RooWiFi Roomba WiFi control

Jelle, I had a lot of problems too. I'm a bit busy right now but when I have some time I'll try to write down what I had to do to get the RooWifi connected to my Fritz AP. It wasn't easy, I can tell you that. Well, I had the issues with my Alfa Network iMesh WAP's and the Netgear WNR3500 rou...

Re: RooWiFi Roomba WiFi control

I've held that button for more then just once :) I've pressed it, pressed and hold it 10 sec. I've not read the manual bit on that one, but it doesn't seem to like the routers I have. I've had both switched on with 802.11b capabilities today, but nothing helped. I've even shortened my wifi key on on...

Re: RooWiFi Roomba WiFi control

I have a vigor router, once set to also accept B its was setting up directly. cant help, no other options i can think of :( I'm using a Netgear WNR3500L and 3 of Alfa Network iMesh routers. The Netgear has it's own 2 SSID's (pub and priv network) and the mesh has it's own G network. I've tried a &q...

Re: RooWiFi Roomba WiFi control

Ehm, documentation states otherwise that it's B/G/N compatible. I only run a G and a N network (seperate ID's) in the house. I did test on B or G or N (exclusively) with either Open, WPA or WPA2. But it didn't work for me. Still working with Xavier to debug this. To give an idea of what happens. - D...

Re: RooWiFi Roomba WiFi control

Had my unit today. Not happy yet and yes I'm contacting Xavier first. First observation is it's having issues connecting to my wifi, while all other devices in the network have no issues. Using a 26 character/digit wifi WPA/WPA2 PSK. having it shortened doesn't seem to help either, still resetting i...
