RFXTRX433xl - better antenna?

Which (better) external antenna can I use for the RFXtrx433xl? I found older posts that all point to broken links or non EU(/NL) webshops. I DO have an RFXLAN (yes, that must be >10 yrs old :-) with an external antenna and (approx. 1-2m) coax cable but that connector is too big for the RFXtrx433. - ...

Re: Zigbee Motion sensors - which sensor is good?

Thanks for the feedback people!

Advice I got from (a number of) other people is the Philips Hue Motion sensor.

The general thought was "It's expensive but well worth the money"

Zigbee Motion sensors - which sensor is good?

Team, I'm am still using 8x MS13 motion sensors that look horrible but do a good job (after approx 15 years!) However, in an attempt to consolidate 5 different wireless technologies I want to replace them with Zigbee motion sensors. Right now I already have 2x Xiaomi motion sensors but it feels like...

RFXtrx433XL on LAN?

What's in the best way to connect the RFXtrx433XL to the LAN?
My home automation server is in one corner of the house and I need the antennas to be in the middle of the house.

PW reset RFXCOM LAN

Team, about the password reset of the RFXCOM LAN . Documentation says: Make an asynchronous 9600,8,N,1 connection with the embedded controller. The embedded controller signal level is 3V3 to 5Volt maximum! So don’t connect a standard RS232 connection directly to this interface! A valid connection ca...

Control Zigbee lamp direct via remote + via Software?

Team, Is it possible to control a light via 2 different methods simultaneously? Example : Ikea Tradfri light with (square) wireless dimmer Switch ---(zigbee)---> Light so switching works directly independent of software/hub/gateway Phoscon --> Conbee II ---(zigbee)---> Light so a computer/API can co...

Re: HS3 Pro to HS4 Pro

That's relatively cheap.. Not sure if I want to pay for a product I haven't even seen in a video or beta. Nice promises but will they deliver?

Wifi sensors to replace Z-Wave?

Team, Who has experience with Wifi sensors? Quite often I have Z-Wave issues and therefore looking for devices that use Wifi. Why? - My wifi network is top quality: something I don't have to worry about. - Often regular AAA batteries used: easier (don't care about the sensor size) Example : $12 door...

Temperature sensor with external probe

Hi,

I'm looking for a (oregon?) temperature sensor with an external probe.
(Device outside the fridge and the sensor inside)

Oregon doesn't seem to have this anymore. I did find an old thread on this topic and hope that there's new information/products available now.

Anyone?

Re: Temperature sensor fridge

RFXLAN supports only Oregon sensors. You can use the internal sensor of an Oregon sensor and extend the connection with a thin 2-pair cable. Isolate the sensor with a 2 cm heat-shrink tube. I opened a typical (simple) Oregon temp sensor. WOW! The wires going to the temperature sensor are as thick a...

The signal doesn't reach my rfxcom from within the fridge :-(

Will try Bert's suggestion to extend the sensor itself. I may have to calibrate it after taking it out of the original casing
