Re: Visonic Powerlink RS232 Hack
The information has been made public and so people can use it. Generally I do not see anything wrong with it. However, it would be nice if it is not just one way, users should contribute their findings to make it easier for everyone to use. CER might also want to think about license implications (de...

@Rene
I cannot test the setting time with the remote programmer (I lost the CD and dont have a windows around to run it anyway). I implemented the function and people using the software with a powermaxpro are ok but it does not work on a powermax+.

Re: Visonic Powerlink RS232 Hack
I have not seen this on my powermax+ (You might have a newer version or a pwermaxpro). I think you can configure the fault report behavior on the powermax itself. For example, I think you can disable to throw an alarm when the phone line is interrupted. There should be as well an option not to compl...

Re: Powerlink protocol description
Ok, that might be the problem here. When I send the set time command my panel ignores the message (no ack). It might be that this command is only possible on a powermaxpro (and not the powermax+). There is as well the possiblility that my code is rubbish. I will try to get some users that use my sof...

Did you have a chance to try that with real smoke?
Did you ever try the set time and date? Does that work for you?

Re: Powerlink protocol description
When pressing the test button on a smoke detector (MCT-425) I see the following message: 0D A5 00 04 00 A2 10 03 00 03 01 00 43 59 0A Byte 5 is 0x10 which indicates Zone 16 which is correct. However, Byte 6 is "0x03 Open" and I would have expected "0x0F Fire Alarm". Did anyone el...

0x46 - Set date and time
This command is not working for me. Can someone please check if it is correctly documented (Also, I would have assumed that a PIN would need to be submitted with it).

Re: Visonic Powerlink RS232 Hack
All, did anyone of you with a powerlink found out any more useful command messages we can send? So far we can arm/disarm but there are so much more things that could be done. For example, voice on/off, chime on/off, mute siren, x10 commands. Also it should be possible to get more info, for example, ...

Re: Visonic Powerlink RS232 Hack
Did anyone figure out howto 1) Get the AUX button of a powermax keyfob to generate a message on the serial port. I would like to use the keyfob AUX button to trigger action in my home automation system. 2) Send commands via rs232 to trigger X10 commands. That way I could use the powermax as cheap X1...
