The A5 02 is the zone open / low battery message (D1-D4 zone open/closed; D5-D8 sensor low battery).
The A5 06 is the zone enrolled / bypass status message (D1-D4 zone enrolled; D5-D8 bypass status).

Re: Visonic Powermax Powerlink protocol description

Hi guys. This thread is GREAT, thanks for all you work. I found however that number of commands are not documented here (like EEPROM download, etc). If you don't mind reading BASIC, this file is a goldmine: https://github.com/DomotiGa/DomotiGa/blob/master/DomotiGa3/.src/CVisonic.class I found it ea...

Re: Visonic Powermax Powerlink protocol description

This is an invalid state. Just remove all power (mains & battery) and try again.

Re: Visonic Powermax Powerlink protocol description

Hope someone can give me a working example of the message to be sent to retrieve the zone names (which is the most important to me now)? Zone names can best be requested with a A3 message. That works on all panel versions. For the 3E Variable UpLoad (VUL) request you need to know the layout of the ...

Re: Running extra 5V equipment of the OTGW

The parts I used (Conrad) are:
  • 154974 DC-DC-omzetter R-78B5.0-1.0
  • 710262 Print transformator VB 2,3/1/15
It runs very stable with a USR-TCP232-E.

Re: Opentherm Gateway

Time is set via message ID 0x20. If you look at the equipment matrix, you'll see that the Honeywell Touch Modulation doesn't support that.

Re: Problem with gateway - boilers starts heating without reason

When the USB is disconnected, just hold a GND pin with your finger. You'll see that the flashing will stop and the OTG will start up (with you as stable ground).

Re: Problem starting after power outage

What you can do is the following.
  • Flash the firmware with otmonitor
  • Open a telnet connection via PuTTY to the TCP232
  • Once otmonitor says to reset manually type 'GW=R' (enter) in the terminal
  • Ignore what you see next in the terminal :o, otmonitor should continue

Re: Problem starting after power outage

Yes, that worked, thanks! Can you put this in otmonitor as part of the firmware upgrade?

Re: Problem starting after power outage

Before I was able to upgrade the firmware by pulling the power plug when it said 'Please manually reset the OpenTherm Gateway'. However, with the new setup this does not work anymore. So I'll first need to add a reset button such that I can upgrade the firmware.

You can hook it up directly to the 3.75V of the PowerMax. See this topic.

Re: Problem starting after power outage

I've 'solved' my issue by replacing the 7805 by a DC/DC converter. This allows me to run the USR-TCP232-E off the 5V of the OTG. This makes the setup stable, with everything nice in one enclosure without an extra power supply. The gateway is not "acting strange" when it sends messages in c...

Re: Problem starting after power outage

I've uploaded the video here. In the video it looks like the LEDs are on constantly once the power is switched on. However, the human eye can see that the LEDs go off briefly numerous of times per second.
