Re: ELV MAX! protocol description
i'm even trying to understand what the information about "free memory slots" can be used for.. (in H response) maybe Clock Set could be something about DST? I'm not sure about the free memory slots, but I think the Cube works similar to the older ELV devices in that is has a command queue...

Re: ELV MAX! protocol description
i thought that a dedicated thread for a decoding app could work better, for example to talk about app features or coding problems.. You could be right about a thread dedicated to app features and so on. But let's keep the protocol part is this thread :) But i know you are always right <snap> Please...

Re: ELV MAX! protocol description
I would say this ís the dedicated thread for decoding the MAX! protocol, so why open a new thread for it, Massi?
The language in which we want to use the decoded protocol, in my case for example C#, is not important for the decoding process itself

Re: ELV MAX! protocol description
thanks to Robert Hekkers code I got some responses from my cube. It seems the cube confirms the s: command with S:. Sorry if I missed it, but doesn't seem to be mentioned in this thread. What does it mean? > s:AARAAAAABjVGBGEAAAA= (temp=16,5) < S:07,0,31 also got S:01,0,31 last time I tried i think...

Re: ELV MAX! protocol description
I mistakenly send the a: command during testing. And I can confirm that it worked  I would advice against trying that yourself by the way  Perhaps your s: message has the wrong syntax and is therefore ignored by the cube? What happens when you send an l: message? The cube should then r...

Re: What does the ELV Max! button do when software not running
Thanks for the update massi. From what I gather from your words, the button configuration is stored in the Cube so it will always do something (depending upon what you have configured it to do) even without the MAX! software running. That's what I expected and also too bad  I guess I'll hav...

What does the ELV Max! button do when software not running
Can someone tell me if the eco button of the MAX! system only operates when the MAX! software is running? The thing is that I am thinking about having one, but a) I don't run the MAX! software itself b) I want to take my own actions when pressing the button, which is not necessarily entering the eco...

Re: ELV MAX! : Wall thermostat and Cube
Hmm that's a lot of buttons to press .. and for a guest that doesn't know how it works it will be a pain. I don't like the 0:00 default schedule switch. I'd wish it kept the keyed in temp until you press the auto mode again. Would make more sense that way. Regards Claudiu If you want a permanent ch...

Re: ELV MAX! : Wall thermostat and Cube
The FAQ is correct in that it states that you can't configure devices which are linked to the Cube. So you can't change the weekly program etc.
You can however, operate a device. So you can adjust the temperature, switch from auto to manual etc.

Re: ELV MAX! protocol description
Thanks Matthijs. I already tried every hex editor for windows I could find. They all support displaying such output. But neither of them supports outputting it to a text file. I´ll have a look at xxd to see if I figure it out. Or perhaps try hd on a linux system (although not quite my cup of tea). U...

Re: A few questions about Z-Wave
It would be a tempting option but i am using already a Arduino amongst many other things in my system and adding a Raspberry with a ''fiddler soultion will make the system becoming more and more a Frankenstein system. One reason of the migration to Z-wave is that i want to cut down the number of us...

Re: A few questions about Z-Wave
I don't know how much of a 'fiddler' you are, but instead of the Aeon stick you could also have a look at using a Raspberry PI with a razberry daughterboard on it

Re: ELV!Cube PHP Library
As far as you know, is there an updated "bible" of the protocol? As far as I know there is not, Massi. There are several sources of information, mainly existing software packages like fhem, max buddy, hacs etc. I am however intending to blog about my findings regarding searching in all pa...
