Re: Is ELV Max! a reliable system compared to FHT80b (or ZWAVE)

I understand, still the loss of energy though the transport in the pipes must surely be very low? This valve is normally operated by a thermostat somewhere? You might also consider doing something with two jeenodes, could be cheaper and more fun then the razberry route. I have never measured the en...

Re: Is ELV Max! a reliable system compared to FHT80b (or ZWAVE)

If you controlled the boiler for the city heating, wouldn't you automatically turn of the heating for everyone? Correct me if I'm wrong, but usually the boiler is where the actual heating of water takes place right? Usually by burning something like gas. Or is your boiler actually a "warmtewis...

Re: ELV Max boiler control

I'm not so sure, when you click on "Zubehör" there are no ELV MAX! items there.. It' might just be an error, but I know nothing about this device.. Hopefully someone here does? I use the FHT8W and it's an FS20 device. This makes it incompatible with the Max! system, because they use a dif...

Re: Is ELV Max! a reliable system compared to FHT80b (or ZWAVE)

To add to my own question, I have bought some Max! stuff from Conrad (so it's the eQ-3 version and not ELV) and comparing to FHT it works like a breeze. -It ís bidirectional. -It seems to be quite stable, but this can only be checked on the long run. -It's very responsive! When I adjust the room the...

I'm a professional software developer so yes I'm sure my software functions as it should :)! This ofter turns out to be a bold statement and thus not Always True :D Perhaps not Always true indeed  But with 23 years of experience I am now at last capable of telling if my own software works or n...

Re: Is ELV Max! a reliable system compared to FHT80b (or ZWAVE)

I'm a professional software developer so yes I'm sure my software functions as it should :) I have now totally removed the FHZ1300PC from the USB port and turned off my server for a while. Now, after rebooting and reconnecting, everything seems to work again. But I totally have had it with this syst...

Re: Is ELV Max! a reliable system compared to FHT80b (or ZWAVE)

All my scripts are open, but they are based on use with HouseBot so probably hard to use in your case. Do you use other FS20 related stuff or just the FHT80b icw FHZ1300PC? I have some FS20 stuff (a sound signaller and some switches and a 220v socket switch). They always have trouble not responding...

Re: Is ELV Max! a reliable system compared to FHT80b (or ZWAVE)

All modern boilers shut off when the returning water is more or less just as warm as the outgoing water. If you close all valves the boiler will shut off. The room thermostats are nice to have but optional. They make for easy control of the temperature, plus they have the added bonus of measuring t...

Re: Is ELV Max! a reliable system compared to FHT80b (or ZWAVE)

ELV Max seems to be the next generation so it probably is better than the FHT80b. However I don't get the irritating stuff you are getting. I use 10 FHT80b's in 10 different rooms with a total of 13 valves. All of them are controlled using my own written software and an FHZ1300PC. The interface als...

Re: Is ELV Max! a reliable system compared to FHT80b (or ZWAVE)

I've been playing with ELV Max! for a while last winter, and expect to completely implement it the coming winter. I don't have a perfect view yet, but I can answer some of your questions. ELV Max! is a bidirectional system, and I think that every packet is actively ACKed (not 100% sure, though). I ...

Re: ELV New software version

Got this running on my raspberry pi :) Also added a RaZberry Z-Wave daughter-board to the raspi and paired it with a HRT4-ZW that I won on ebay. Frankly stunned by how easy it was to integrate the z-wave stuff. The lovely api that the Razberry Z-Wave board provides is the main reason it was so easy...

Is ELV Max! a reliable system compared to FHT80b (or ZWAVE)

I was wondering what the experiences are with users of the ELV MAX! system? Is it more reliable than for example the FHT 80b's? I am looking to upgrade my current heating system (which uses FHT80b's). It works OK when you don't touch it, but there are irritating issues: -The system is not fully bidi...

Re: where to buy Receiver with dry contact (relay) switch?

Let me know if HomeSeer does a better job in providing a status if you will. I'm not very satisfied with IP-Symcon regarding Z-Wave. There doesn't seem to be very much support on it. I think I will investigate xPL a bit further. Seems like a good open source project in which I can further expand my ...

Re: where to buy Receiver with dry contact (relay) switch?

The problem seems to be that there is nothing to poll. But perhaps HomeSeer has a better status of the switch than the software I use now (Ip-Symcon). I have only a boolean status and the dim percentage. The boolean can not show the three 'states', because a boolean's got only two :) And the percent...
