Error 03 with Tado opentherm stat
I have finally got around to buying an opentherm thermostat (Tado) which I have connected through the opentherm gateway and initially all was well (I was seeing it sending temperatures and also modulating the boiler too) But after a short time, I am now seeing a lot of Error 03's. I tried changing t...

Re: New Google Nest has Opentherm
Just seen that Nest have announced a software update on twitter coming in early 2016 to better the modulating side of the unit, hopefully this may give better results.

Have a look at https://github.com/thoukydides/heatmiser-wifi
I modified his code to produce graphs on the opentherm data.

Re: Firmware version 4.0 has been released.
Hi Schelte, A while back you added the functionality to retain the ignored commands during an upgrade using otmonitor, mine were put in so long ago that I can't remember what ones are in there ! Is there any chance of having the otmonitor software report these to the screen or a logfile after/during...

Re: Opentherm Gateway 4.0 alpha/beta testers wanted
There is currently no way to dump some of these settings. The problem is that the output might not fit in the available transmit buffer. So such a report would have to be done in increments, which requires a lot of code. Because of the limited resources available in the PIC, I didn't think it was w...

Re: Opentherm Gateway 4.0 alpha/beta testers wanted
Hi Schelte, I've now installed version 4.0a11 and all looks good so far. Is there a command that prints out all the cusom settings, such as UI, AA, etc. so when the next version of software comes out its easy to note down any changes (those stored in EEPROM) I've made that would be lost during an up...

Re: Opentherm Gateway 4.0 alpha/beta testers wanted
You can easily check for yourself what happens by simply disconnecting your thermostat. But here are the gory details: The gateway will repeatedly send the following sequence of messages: MsgID 18: Water pressure in CH circuit MsgID 0: Master and Slave Status flags MsgID 25: Boiler flow water tempe...

Re: Opentherm Gateway 4.0 alpha/beta testers wanted
Hi Schelte I see on the release notes for v4 of the gateway s/w : -> The gateway will autonomously generate opentherm messages towards the boiler if no opentherm compliant thermostat is connected. Can I ask what commands the gateway sends and are they in a particular order or random? Thanks Richard

Re: Using the opentherm interface with just a boiler
Richard, Currently the gateway won't do much without an opentherm thermostat connected. However, there are some ideas floating around (see also http://home.xmsnet.nl/openthermprotocol/) to make it do something useful without a thermostat or in combination with an on/off thermostat. It will be a whi...

Using the opentherm interface with just a boiler
Hi all, I've just built an opentherm interface and am looking to connect it to my boiler via the opentherm interface and use it for two functions : 1. To monitor various elements of the boiler and graph them on a PC, e.g. flow temp, return temp, flame on, etc. 2. To have a PC switch the 'hot water c...

Re: [Poll for interest] OpenTherm Gateway pcbs
Hi Richard, I can certainly add you to the list, but please find out if it will work for your ATAG boiler beforehand. I'll add you as soon as you are sure that you want one. Thanks, Lennart Hi Lennart Thanks for the reply. I've checked and the ATAG uses a Z-Bus (Open Therm) so should work fine, so ...
