Re: MQTT discussion topic
I can relate to your opening post to a large extent, Marnix. I too am searching for some mature software which still seems hard to find in home automation land. Which of course, like many others, results in writing your own software. The down side of writing it yourself is that it's not that easy t...

Re: MQTT discussion topic
No surprises yet I must say, for now especially nodejs proves to be very powerful as well. Maybe I should add it to the topic title as well.
edit: only now I found out that this topic is now in a subforum which also has Node.js in the name. Excellent!

Re: Is ELV Max! a reliable system compared to FHT80b (or ZWAVE)
Hi Marnix, Just to give you an example of what Rene tried to tell you, here's some 'pseudo code' of my Roomba RooWifi 'driver' to help you understand: This piece of code does nothing more than just publishing everything what (in this case) the RooWifi on top of my Roomba has to offer in terms of in...

MQTT discussion topic
Hi since the discussion in this topic ( domoticaforum.eu/viewtopic.php?f=66& ... =30#p67074 ) became a little offtopic, I have created this one. Personally, I think home automation as of now still feels like a large unexplored territory. Standardization feels very much absent. There's a huge amo...

Re: Is ELV Max! a reliable system compared to FHT80b (or ZWAVE)
I'm experimenting a little and trying to use Domoticz as a frontend for MQTT. After some hard work I was able to install nodejs and get it to work. Knowing not too much about linux, javascript etc. it took me quite a while. So this allows me to subscribe Domoticz to a particular topic and show the r...

Re: Is ELV Max! a reliable system compared to FHT80b (or ZWAVE)
Good to hear all this. I'm using elv max as well and I like it too. There's a great piece of software called max buddy that you should check. First I would suggest installing it on Windows, but later you can also try headless on the raspberry. I've also made some script to try and integrate max budd...

Re: plugwise design, but through wifi
Nice, looks professional. Is it possible to access each plug through its own webpage? I'm wondering how the initial 50 will not be used for manufacturing. Then how do you pay for the plugs and leds? Also, since it you're in the Netherlands it would be nice if shipping costs would become less. I also...

Re: Difference eQ-3 Max! radiatorthermostaat
the + version can be programmed without the cube or wall thermostat. If you're a proper home automation enthusiast I guess you want the cube anyway (I wouldn't doubt a second) so then you don't need to spend the extra 5 euro. Just the luxery of programming the system from the laptop is already worth...

Re: Remotely control thermostat
I'm using ELV Max! myself so I notice your post. However, I don't quite understand it. You're trying to get hot water to the radiators by turning on the central heating system if needed? Is it city heating or a gas heating system? do you want to use the setpoint temperature or the real room temperat...
