Re: Ethernet module

The DHCP stuff is indeed not stable yet. Part of the problem is that I can only test with stuff I have here, and there seem to be subtle differences between routers. There is no doubt a superset which works in most places, but we're not there yet. To help requires some deep TCP/IP digging, such as s...

Re: Roomnode displaying wrong Temp

next question......: The roomnode works with an external battery, but not with the AA Board I suspect it's this: http://cafe.jeelabs.net/first_steps/#index11h2 and this http://talk.jeelabs.net/topic/644 The JeeNode v5 added a diode. In hindsight, that was a mistake. It has caused more confusion tha...

Re: Kit received, few questions

But on the bridge board we have digital 0 ... 13 and analog 0 ... 5.
Maybe this helps: http://jeelabs.org/2010/12/02/bridge-board-–-caveats/

Re: Kit received, few questions

Correct, that would properly be me (two correct facts, alexander and rotterdam). I've already added the LDR and smd chip on the v1. That would not be a no-go to desolder that i think? Ok, I can send it out in an envelope tomorrow. De-soldering the LDR is not too hard. For the SMD chip, you have to ...

Yes, it can be confusing, unfortunately. Here's a diagram which may help, at least for the "basic" I/O pins: http://cafe.jeelabs.net/ref/pinouts/JN-colors.pdf

Re: Kit received, few questions

The PIR with the blue board is the newest. It doesn't fit nicely on the RB v1 - see http://jeelabs.org/2010/08/30/new-pir-motion-sensor/ During the workshop, I replaced everyone's RB v1 PCB with a new RB v2 PCB, as I just received them the day before. The new PCB is described here - http://jeelabs.o...

Re: Arduino RF12 broken...?

(thx Pieter, for fixing my pw on this forum - I think...) Whee, lots of activity. The problem with the defective RFM12B module puzzles me. If taking it off makes the JN responsive to serial commands, then it must indeed be the problem. Being able to change settings is not only a matter of the RFM12B...

Re: Visonic bitstream protocol

Thanks, good point. Main reason for doing this, is because I've already got the entire infra-structure in place for receiving and sending 433 & 868 MHz signals. Many Visonic sensors have FS20 equivalents, so it's no big deal for me, but it'd be fun to add - and since what I do is open source, it...

Re: Visonic bitstream protocol

No responses and replies yet - how surprising! For future viewers of this thread: please email me at jcw@equi4.com if you have any tips re. Visonic. I'd be interested to add it to the protocols already supported at www.jeelabs.org - so far, that includes the whole range of FS20 devices, KAKU, and (K...

Re: Visonic bitstream protocol

Some corrections and progress: the pulses are 400 and 800 µs, using Manchester encoding, with a packet size of 44 .. 46 bits. Packets are sent 3 times within 2..3 seconds. I've got a JeeNode (ATmega328 with RF) reliably decoding these packets, but preamble, byte order, bit allocation, and checksum a...

Visonic bitstream protocol

Hello - I'm poking around with a Visonic door sensor, trying to figure out the protocol it sends out over 868 MHz. What I can see is a very clear pattern of 001/011/101/111 transmit on/off transitions with all pulses either 80 or 160 µS (approx). When you take out the fixed 1's, you end up with 36x2...

Plugwise Circle/Circle+/stick

This is the Plugwise "Home Start Pakket". I've used it only a few days, and then moved on because I'm using other devices now for measuring and controlling stuff around my house. Nearly unused, but I don't have the box anymore - it's been lying around for almost a year now. Will sell 'em f...
