Re: Ethernet based video door bell

Hi Bastiaan,

Thanks for your input.
Can you give links to the products that you have connected and maybe a wiring diagram?

Thanks,

Nick

Re: Ethernet based video door bell

Hi Raymon, Thanks for the link to the Gigaset HC450. At first I got SUPER excited as this seemed to be EXACTLY what i wanted.... Unfortunately, my excitement soon died down: 1. The product is no longer being manufactured by Siemens (Why?? No idea...) 2. I did find a few new units on Ebay but then I ...

Re: Ethernet based video door bell

Well I actually already spoke of the Doorbot (scroll up). It's great if you have a strong Wifi signal at your door, but useless if you want to use it for a gate unless you install a Wifi repeater in your gate pillar... No, what I now want just has to be 2 wire audio and DSL phone compatible. I also ...

Re: Ethernet based video door bell

Hi all, Ok, so I'm back 'cause I still haven't found what I've been looking for for months now... I've looked everywhere but there's nothing out there that is IP based (as opposed to the traditional 2 wire system which can only work with it's hard wired monitor), PoE (versus on site powered with a t...

Re: Ethernet based video door bell

Expensive? Well actually I don't think it is that expensive if you have a look at the other similar products whose price can go well over 1'000 bucks. I would go ahead and sign up for that Novosip but seeing that no one else has yet is a little worrying. The one I've looked at which I find great is ...

Re: Ethernet based video door bell

Hi Olof,

Thanks for the link. I had seen this before and seems nice but I don't know if I wanna be a Guinea Pig on that product. Especially with something not even out and at $200...
I think I'm gonna end up buying from Aliexpress... Will come back to give a review when I get it.

Olof, thanks for the info. I'll contact the Aliexpress seller and do what you said. Thanks for the advice!

Cheers,

Re: Ethernet based video door bell

Hi Olof, Thanks for the links. Mobotix look really neat but expensive and a little too complex for my liking. The chinese stuff looks good but is it as good in reality? Seems there is very little feedback from purchasers. Do you have experience with buying through Aliexpress? This one looks like exa...

Re: Ethernet based video door bell

Hi Noel, Doesn't need to be any particular signal. All I would like is to be able to use the CAT6e cable for signal feed (audio 2 way, video one way and gate opening toggle). My worry is signal loss over the 70 odd meters between camera and monitor if I don't use Ethernet version. But maybe that's n...

Ethernet based video door bell

Hi all, Could some one tell me if something out there could fit the following requirement? I want to operate my main gate which is 70m away from my house with the use of a video door bell system. Wireless is out of the question as I don't have line of sight and adding the thickness of house walls, t...
