Re: Honeywell evohome & Techneco Elga
No, I use the normal 4.0 firmware. Interface firmware is something for the (remote) future. I only send the setpoint override command, the thermostat itself sends the room temperature. /not OpenTherm related: If you want to learn more about the Elga and its peculiarities, may I suggest the tweakers ...

Re: Honeywell evohome & Techneco Elga
Haven't been here recently, sorry. The Elga does not respond to CS commands, it only listens to room setpoint overrides. If you want to start the Elga, set the room setpoint 0.4 degr LOWER than the current room temperature. If you want to switch off the Elga, set the room setpoint more than 0.5 degr...

Re: Elga heatpump vs OpenTherm, does this setup make sense?
Plan A was to be able to control the power of the Elga. It worked: I bought a "good ole" Honeywell Chronotherm Modulation. By fiddling with the setpoints in relation to the room temperature, the Elga reacts with different power levels: If you set the setpoint 0.4 lower than the room temper...

Re: Opentherm Gateway
I have a OTGW connected between a ELGA heatpump and a Honeywell Vision Modulation. Now for the fifth time I lost the connection with the heatpump and its the same problem every time. The thermostat shows a temperature of 10.0 degrees and the heatpump won't start anymore. Every time they replace the...

Re: Which thermostat accepts 0.1 degr accurate setpoints?
Thanks Schelte. It seems that the Honeywell Chronotherm modulation does the job, so I just bought one on marktplaats. If the room setpoint is .5 degrees higher than the room temperature, the Elga goes full power. However, if you stay between 0.1 and 0.4 degrees, it instructs the Carrier xPower to a ...

Re: Elga heatpump vs OpenTherm, does this setup make sense?
Nice. Let's see whether I understand this... - I load the interface firmware - every second I put a Hex messages on the serial line with the "master" bit unset to trick the heatpump into thinking there's a thermostat connected. - I cannot make use of TT and TC commands, but in stead I need...

Which thermostat accepts 0.1 degr accurate setpoints?
Of course, the subjecttitle of this topic does not quite well slice it... I'm looking for a thermostat which support the following features: must have: - (some sort of) tele-contact - it must accept a setpoint to 0.1 degree accuracy - it must be able to perfectly communicate with the OTGW nice to ha...

Interface firmware? Could you point me in the right direction please?
Thanks for your help, btw.

Re: Elga heatpump vs OpenTherm, does this setup make sense?
Am I sure? I Am sure that the Elga controller needs these values to compute a setpoint to send to the external unit. That setpoint is communicated through the Carrier brand protocol. The other thing that I am sure of is that the heatpump does not start when I short the thermostat terminals. Perhaps ...

Elga heatpump vs OpenTherm, does this setup make sense?
I want to be able to control my Elga heatpump with the OTGW, but without the Honeywell Touch Modulation thermostat. Reason is that I have several rooms with their own Vision on/off thermostat. Long story short: I capture the on/off signals on a Netduino microcontroller and would like to instruct the...

Re: Opentherm Gateway
I have removed the max232 chip from the OTGW and connected the ground, tx-in and rx-out of the IC-holder to my Netduino, this works beautifully. OT Gateway is working perfectly with an ELGA heatpump here (Honeywell Touch Modulation) . Thus far I've found one quirk: When I issue the Set Clock command...
