Re: TCP Connection - echo-ing/muxing OpenTherm data
A belated thank you - has been working splendidly for well over a year now.

Re: Direct Pump control on a pair of Remea Avanta
Yes - this works - and for the remea the Heating flag indicates pump running.

Feature request: fully daemonizing
It may be an idea to fully daemonizing (http://wiki.tcl.tk/2224, http://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man3/daemon.3.html / double fork()) - rather than just run headless. That is useful in server scenarios. Especially if an exit code (non zero for errors) can be relied on to make sure it was started. Wit...

Feature request: naming the opentherm
When running multiple opentherms - being able to name them is useful. Especially when ran in daemon mode. Below sketch may be an idea. Dw. diff otmonitor.vfs/alerts.tcl otmonitor.vfs.orig/alerts.tcl 186c186 < global cfg gwname --- > global cfg 192c192 < lappend msg "Subject: $gwname alert"...

Makefile for OpenTherm firmware
As requested on IRC below is the Makefile I am using to compile the assembler with either MPLABX or a normal AS. Dw. # Makefile / openterm gateway # # (c) 2014 Dirk-Willem van Gulik <dirkx(at)webweaving(dot)org> # Available under the license.txt of the OpenTerm Gateway # software or any version of t...

Feature request: support for P1/S0/Pulses
It may be nice; for some future version; to support the P1 bus of `smart' meters (http://www.bwired.nl/weblog.asp?id=456) - or very simple pulse counting as commonly called 'S0' (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/S0-Schnittstelle).
And then report this as a special message.

Re: Direct Pump control on a pair of Remea Avanta
Ah good. As I was getting nowhere with ID3.
So fair to assume a CH=1 (without any CS; or an CS which is already at CS=10) will switch on the pump of the Remeha; and a CH=0 will switch it off; potentially some time later; as per the boilers preferences ?
Correct ?
Thanks,
Dw

Direct Pump control on a pair of Remea Avanta
I am using the OpenGW with two Remeha Central Heaters in using an open-collector/pressure-vessel setup; which unifies those two Central Heaters as well as a woodburner. A bit of software and OpenGW helps schedule the optimum modulation/balances the two heaters as to keep each or either near the HR o...

TCP Connection - echo-ing/muxing OpenTherm data
It would be nice, perhaps as a 'option' to have the TCP conncetion on port 7686 not just accept commands - but to also have it relay everything it sees on the opentherm bus. And also do so if multiple (other) otmonitor's are connected.

How to interpret the modulation value
How should one interpret the modulation value. Looking at graphs like http://otgw.tclcode.com/otmonitor.html#graph and my own (http://people.apache.org/~dirkx/ot.png) - I am wondering what 0% modulation means. Does it perhaps mean not modulated at all - and 100% in effect means maximal reduction of ...

Re: Avanta 28C/OpentermGW 4.0a3/Celcia 20 - boiler comms
Thanks for the help. Oscilloscope revealed a tremendous amount of 50hz noise and a slowly undulating 15 volt bias on the Boiler wire X3. Replacing a cap with worn-rubber && cleaning the dustly/water-leakage remains from the main board in the Avanta28C fixed this. We now have functional comms...

Re: Avanta 28C/OpentermGW 4.0a3/Celcia 20 - boiler comms
Ok - Diagnostic 4 (loopback) and 5 (voltage) show no obvious issues; and suggest normal working/tolerance of the electronics.
However occasionally the voltages go haywire. So checking for ground loop and related fun and game next.

Re: Avanta 28C/OpentermGW 4.0a3/Celcia 20 - boiler comms
Upgraded to 1. "OpenTherm Gateway 4.0b1" on the gateway 2. 4.0b2 on the client (tried windows under wine and the Rasp-Pi version -- identical results). That has made all Error 01/03 go away. Although interestingly enough it does not recognize the Celcia (PR=R reports 'D'). Issue still the ...

Avanta 28C/OpentermGW 4.0a3/Celcia 20 - boiler comms
Folks, On a freshly build openterm gw; USB comms are fine; voltages sane; etc. - A Celcia 20 directly connected to a Remeha Avanta 28C boiler works fine. - Same Celcia 20 connected to a 4.0a3 firmware OGW reports T00.. reports at regular intervals (provided IT=1 is set). However - its display gives ...
