Did anything ever come out of this? Up until I just read your post I was thinking that the Ecomline heaters also used EMS, but you're saying they don't?

What many people have done (but it's too late for you now) is to open up the remote, solder a regular zwave switch to the contacts, then send 'close' commands to activate the buttons.
