Re: Using the Opentherm Gateway but just as a monitor

The OTGW needs its own power source, and if that PSU fails then I will have no heating, that's my fear. I am currently monitoring eBUS on my Vaillant boiler, that is also a 2 wire bus but if my eBUS monitor fails the boiler still continues to work. I wanted something similar for OT. Is that possible?

Using the Opentherm Gateway but just as a monitor

Is there a way I can monitor messages on the OT bus using the OTGW without having the OT Bus pass through the OTGW. I don't want the OTGW to add any dependency to the normal operation of the OT Bus. I set the OTGW to Monitor Mode. I connected the OT bus to the OTGW on the Thermostat side only. I was...

So what was it? How are you connecting Domoticz to this?

Re: OTGW and Orange Pi Zero one device.

I can see how there is very little dependency on the OPI, because it simply acting as the serial port monitor for the OTGW board, which is running it's own PIC. But I guess I will need to think about how I monitor the power of the OPI itself. Is there a way to run this board in a pure sniffer/monito...

Re: OTGW and Orange Pi Zero one device.

Does anyone know what happens to the OT link if the Orange Pi is powered off or hangs. Is there a path through the circuit on the OTGW board to allow the OT messages to go through? I am concerned about putting a device in between my heating system that ultimately relies on an SD Card, and all the jo...

Re: OTGW and Orange Pi Zero one device.

Just use the package that is linked in the first post. It's got the OS and the OT Monitor installed. You then just update the OS.

Yes, I did spot that in the thread earlier.

Re: OTGW and Orange Pi Zero one device.

Received mine today. It's super neat and clearly a lot of time has gone into thinking about the layout and researching the BOM. Finding and designing a terminal block that would fit through the dual USB hole on the enclosure was just genius. I was going to fire it up today. But I need to find some t...

Re: OTGW and Orange Pi Zero one device.

Ah right so it's using the web version of the otmonitor, rather than the client GUI. That's fine. What about SSH access into the armbian. What's the root user and password?

Re: OTGW and Orange Pi Zero one device.

Once you load the OS image and get the Orange Pi connected to your network, how do you interact with the OT gateway? I'm guessing the OS on the Orange Pi is headless, so where is the OT Monitor loaded? I.e. how do view the data?

Re: OTGW and Orange Pi Zero one device.

Is that measured temperature or reported temperature. The reason I ask is there are reports that say that the reported temperatures are not accurate. I can't see the OTGW being CPU intensive, so may be worth derating the CPU in any case?

Re: Evohome / Evotouch Wireless protocol?

If the WiFi controller can display and amend the schedules on the phone app, then the RFG100 should also be capable of doing that. I don't have the RFG100 to confirm my thinking though.

Re: Evohome / Evotouch Wireless protocol?

I've just installed Evohome and am now interested in getting it working with an rfbee (currently on order) ideally directly connected to a BeagleBone black. I'd really like to be able to backup and restore schedules to the Evohome controller. It looks like this should be possible judging from the T...

Re: Evohome / Evotouch Wireless protocol?

I would have thought even if we can use the RFG100 the message structure for the scheduling should be easy to find. The RFG100 was able to read and push schedules back to the controller.
