Re: Linux and stick issues

I'm using plugwise on a Ubuntu 10.4 LTS with backported 2.6.38-8 kernel and have no problems using the plugwise modules using Domotiga. I do however use an udev-rule to pin the stick to a fixed adress so it doesn't get changed by one of the other FTDI-devices on the same server. Okay, thanks for an...

Linux and stick issues

Hi, I've been using Plugwise with Linux now for some years and it has worked great thanks to some persons on these forums for reverse engineering the protocol. But yesterday I was going to upgrade my kernel to 2.6.38 from 2.6.34 and after that there has been nothing but problems. So I reverted to th...

Re: Firmware version 2 Plugwise protocol and POL 2.0

Finally got my set and got most of it working. However I don't see the 0061 at all. Do I need to trigger something first? Right now I am testing with the Circle+ and one extra Circle. Maybe it starts working when more Circles are attached. In that case I will get there later today.. I also see the ...

Re: Second stick or circle(plus) in the same network

So you are telling us that it is not possible to have 2 sticks connected to the same network?

Plugwise and Linux

Hi all, Does anyone know how to get 5min average readings from the plugs? I started to develop my own service which shall log all plugs to a MySQL database which Cacti (or other monitoring application) in turn shall read the data and graph it. However, I did not think this through as the log buffers...

Reading electricity meter led

Hello bjorn.

Did you use S0 or the LED when reading watt usage of your Emernet E420? I live in Vasa and have the exact same meter here.

Plugwise and Linux

Do you know if the source stick still uses FTDI chip? My linux box does not find anything when I plug in the stick, other serial converters does work. lsusb does not list anything either.

EDIT: it works in my MythTV Frontend so to answer my question, yes it still uses FTDI.

High pitched beep

Received my batch of circles this week and me too hear this noise. Some of the plugs have a quite loud noise so I can hear it from another room, distance approx 10m. Quite annoying actually. Will try to ID those that have the biggest noise and place them strategically (freezer, washing machine etc)

New coming major firmware update

If I buy starter package this week, will the firmware be upgradable or should I wait? Of course the main reason I'm interested in plugwise is because you guys makes it possible to use on a Linux server, so maybe it would be smarted to buy with old firmware if they makes it harder to reverse engineer...
