Bluetooth 4.0 (smart / low energy) presence detection
After reading the Xtrusion post by 123unlock I got interested in BLE. Now I'm trying to create a presence detection system using a raspberry pi and BLE devices, but results are poor. As a receiver I tried the LogiLink BT0015 (100 meter range), Conceptronic 1004108 CBT40NANO (100 meter range) and CSR...

Re: Xtrusion Domotica Project
30 to 40 meters would be ideal, but I'm not even getting half of that. Maybe 6, 7 meters. I've tried a LogiLink BT0015 and Conceptronic 1004108 CBT40NANO. Both 100 meter LE bluetooth 4.0 usb dongles. The problem could be the pi's location. It's in the hallway, behind a door (meterkast) surrounded by...

Re: Xtrusion Domotica Project
The range is a little disappointing. I'm using a csr bluetooth 4.0 usb dongle and two stickNfinds. The bluetooth dongle has a range of 20 meter, but the stickNfind is not detected anymore when I'm 10 meters away from the raspberry pi. there are 2 doors between the stickNfind and the raspberry pi. I'...

Re: Xtrusion Domotica Project
Thank you for the clarification.
I ran a hcitool lescan and retrieved the mac address of the sticknfind. But when I try to connect with hcitool cc <mac address> to check rssi it fails to connect. Are you doing it differently?

Re: Xtrusion Domotica Project
What software are you using to track your sticknfind tags? Did you convert them to ibeacons? Do you track them with hcitool? Or a custom python script?

Re: Evohome / Evotouch Wireless protocol?
Fixed. After executing 'echo 10ac 0102 > /sys/bus/usb-serial/drivers/ti_usb_3410_5052_1/new_id' directly from the shell I noticed firware was missing when I read dmesg. Downloaded ti_3410.fw and copied it to /lib/firmware/.

Re: Evohome / Evotouch Wireless protocol?
I'm using a Raspberry Pi and purchased a Honeywell HGI80 to communicate with my Evohome system from Domoticz. The HGI80 is connected to my Raspberry Pi via USB. It is detected but not attached to ttyUSB0 or any other. lsusb output: Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0424:9512 Standard Microsystems Corp. Bus 001...
