Worked a bit more on the event engine this evening. This now actually works: http://www.maartendamen.com/dev/ha_pub8.png
Here's a to-do list before the release:
  • Plugins management (edit, delete)
  • Events management (edit, dleete)
  • Add labels in device overview (degrees, humidity % etc.)
  • Bug: Time in graphs is sometimes incorrect.
  • Make Google Latitude plug-in working again.
  • Lot of work on the z-wave plug-in
Do you guys think it's useful to release it earlier with some bugs/missing features in there?

There's always pros and cons for releasing early.
It all depends on what you want and expect. If you have the time now to look into bug reports, help people install and configure, then release asap.
If you're short in time, fix everything you know first, and then release, in the long run that will save time.
Releasing now will mean people trying the software, and getting feedback from users.

All up to you. I would say release, since then I can look into it, but that's just me.

I only work with bug free software,
Release it when you feel confident enough about it, I'd say...

I am just a 'lurker' in this thread but i want to let you know that you have to be carefull that your software won't get marked as buggy software. Even if you fix all bugs en quirks in the end then still people will remember this (or google does it for them)
So it's better to iron out all bugs you know of before releasing it.
Just my opinion.

This evening I spend some time on introducing HouseAgent, the result is an article on my blog: maartendamen.com/2011/06/introducing-ho ... ouseagent/
As of now the source code for HouseAgent (core) can also be found online (public!). No plug-ins are published online yet.

No installer yet :-)
I actually pulled the code from git, to test on windows, but no go just yet, probably since I'm missing the installer?

Looks nice so far though, keep up the good work!

@wwolkers: indeed no installer yet, a little more patience.. I am aiming for mid next week for an installer!
@Bastiaan: thanks! Any help is appreciated, especially on the MAC/OSX side. Could you register on the HouseAgent forum, so I can give you access to the beta releases (when they are ready?)

@All/Rene: tonight there will be a blog post about plug-in development for HouseAgent!

Just a quick follow up, I have been working hard on the installer. Ran into numerous problems while building it (bugs in third party packages, etc).
I have now gotten to the point where it actually installs :-) Now I need to package the plug-ins as well and then the Windows installer will be ready.
Please stay tuned :-)
