I don't see udhcpcd is being started. It is missing or the /etc/network/interfaces file is corrupt/missing. This file is normally written by some Toon native files (the hcb_netcom process).
Try to go into the boot mode again and try to run udhcpd then

I've checked /etc/network/interfaces and the file is readable.

But I'm not sure how to start udhcpd. I've used [/ # systemctl start udhcpd] and the outcome is: [/bin/sh: systemctl not found]
I'm not sure if this is the right way to do.

Also I've tried to start ifconfig, but then the outcome is: [ifconfig: /proc/net/dev: No such file or directory]
I've noticed that /proc directory is there but empty, is this correct?

Put the lan cable in Toon. And try udhcpc as command.

Thx, for your quick replay, your command is working.

/ # udhcpc
udhcpc: started, v1.27.2
sed: /proc/mounts: No such file or directory
eth0: Freescale FEC PHY driver [Generic PHY] (mii_bus:phy_addr=1:10, irq=-1)
udhcpc: sending discover
PHY: 1:10 - Link is Up - 100/Full
udhcpc: sending discover
udhcpc: sending select for 192.168.2.16
udhcpc: lease of 192.168.2.16 obtained, lease time 86400
sed: /proc/mounts: No such file or directory
/etc/udhcpc.d/50default: Adding DNS 192.168.2.254
/etc/udhcpc.d/70prepend-google-pub-dns: Prepending DNS 8.8.8.8 (skip with /mnt/persist/udhcpc-skip-prepend-google-pub-dns)
/ #

I'm not sure if the outcome is oke. Also I found this [sed: /proc/mounts: No such file or directory]

It really seems that you messed up your toon badly. And i'm not sure if providing more help here will help you fixing it because until now you only made it worse each time :-)

If you want I could fix your toon remote for you. Only need a working teamviewer and your computer connected to the serial port of your Toon. A friendly sponsorship on my paypal account is always appreciated if you opt for this option ;-)

Just about to finish fixing your Toon. It was indeed weird that during normal boot network failed to work. And within recovery boot the network was fine.
I decided to completly restore your toon from a working backup from another toon using NFS boot and restore. Now it is working again and updating to 5.0.4 :-)
