ESP8266 topic

Post by Kroonen »

Hi,

I think you'll see more and more the esp8266 module. I think it should be nice to have a topic for that, because the ESP8266 is a great module very well for domotica , it is ip based and more secure that the 433mhz modules en 866 modules.

Some interesting stuff:

ESP8266 running nodeMCU (very nice, makes the ESP8266 much more powerful than the default firmware which only supports the AT commands). It uploads the values of the sensors to Domoticz. I have attached two waterproof DS18B20 to the pipes of my central heater, so i can make a nice logging for it: http://tweaken.blogspot.nl/2015/01/cv-k ... t-een.html (not my blog ;) )
I didn't make the Lua code for the ESP8266, so can't post it here :P

But the version for one DS18B20 can be found here: http://vaasa.hacklab.fi/2015/01/12/esp8 ... k-nodemcu/ (be careful, the DS18B20 in his scheme is the wrong way round, i found out because my DS18B20 got very hot... But still working :P Look at Google for correct pinout of DS18B20 )

See also http://domoticz.com/wiki/ESP8266_WiFi_module for other nice projects.

This is a really good piece of information and an interesting one. I have read the Lua code for ESP8266 and it covers all the conditions. Don’t think I’ll have to edit it a lot if I want to customize it for utilization. Have you look at correcting the pin-outs of DS18B20? If so, it’ll be really helpful if you can share the updated schematics. I won’t have time this weekend, If I get some on the next weekend, I’ll try to update in case you haven’t. Thank you for sharing.

Regards,

is there someone who already made serial <> Ethernet relay for monitoring the P1 port on the "smartmeter"
I will get a smartmeter here in a couple of weeks, and the ESP seems to be a nice device to send the readout data to an server in-house

so if someone already has a nodemcu lua script and schematics how to wire it to the uart port :D
