Who does have experiences with these products? They are cheap , but i want to be sure that can produce heat as they substain !

Today i finished my installation. (pictures will come in next days). I turned on the panel (is solar powered) in a shiny day. Ambient conditions were: at 11.00 AM , temp. = 14 C, humidity (H.R) = 43%. After 2 hours (13.30 PM) , air coming out from panel was temp = 33C , H.R =20% (ambient conditions were nearly the same of 11.00 AM). Tomorrow is going to rain , so i must wait for a complete shiny day to collect other data to test if temperature can even increase. H.R is really good (very dry). Take note that my will is to reduce HR in the basement. Cheers.

Hi my friends, i did this topic here for a commercial panel.
Today after some DIY days i want to present you my own panel , made with alluminio , beer cans and polycarbonate .
Weight is <8 kgs !

My temp. measure of today : windy, full sunshine (PANEL IS NOT YET FINISHED , lack of lateral isolation and exit pipe is not isolated and connected with tape.... it's just to test )

What do you us to suck/blow the air, or does the temperature difference do this by itself?

12 cm pc fan , that "makes" 80 CFM = 135,93 m3/h

fan is , for today powered by a 12v psu, but i have a ready to use photovoltaic panel (10watt) to mount aside the air-panel

I'm definitely going to have a go at this project (small version 1st)

What are you using as a 'lens' ?

i spent a week on deciding which panel (front vs. sun i mean) , you know i'm a chemist , so i gave a look at many different panel and studied their most important features like light transmission, heat block (once inside the structure), uv-resistant , moisture absence , cells size and numbers (every pannel has many small internal cells), weather resistance ect etc. and PRICE !

Please note thermoclear , because there are many many different types , thermoclear is the good one for solar panels

The problem of this first DIY is the chassis : here the panel are glued and then blocked using alluminium angle-profilates , the best would be to find a modular system (alluminium) where you simply insert the panel in the groove. something like this

I have some friends who work in the alluminium industry. I'm going to ask theme if they know something like this.
How deep does it need to be?

dimension is relative : i mean as bigger is, as more heat could generate. then we must consider the can dimensions : mine are 0.50 lt of beer (oh oh this summer i drunk 224 cans = 112 lts ) and are 17 cms tall.
you must think what dimension you need and then calculate how many can-columns and how tall.
mine are 16 columns with 14 cans each

Just thinking about the outer case/shell.
Is it not better if this was made from wood to keep all the heat inside?

wood was first idea , simple to buy and to construct.
but it's heavier , you must carry it on your roof...
years of water , snow , wind, sun outside : you must repaint it every "x" years and be careful to not paint the front face.
Alluminium is better, just my 2 cts.

This is great! How much were the costs of all the materials?
(don't count the beer cans of course, cause I guess you had a lot of fun emptying those )
