New thermostat for use with Homeseer

After many problems I have decided to buy a new thermostat. I currently have a Omnistat2 RC-1000 with a serial connection to Homeseer. Due to the specific serial server I use to connect it to HS this setup is not stable enough. I also have the feeling the HS plugin for the Omnistat2 series is not optimal (troublesome celsius usage) for the European market.

That said, I'm looking for a new thermostat solution which should integrate nicely in HS. Looks are also important.

I currently see two realistic options:

1) Proliphix series (NT20 or NT100) using the HS Proliphix plugin.
- Could someone tell me their experience with the HS plugin
- Can I use this thermostat if I have only 1 UTP cable to the location?

2) A Z-wave thermostat such as the RCS TZ43
- Is there anyone with experience using the HS plugin in a European setup?
- Is there a Z-wave stick that supports US and European Z-wave frequencies, or can I use two Z-wave stick with HS at the same time? (one Euro, one US)

3) Ecobee thermostat. They just introduced an iPhone app, which implies they now have some sort of API for interfacing. Unfortunately they are not reveiling this information at this time yet. Buying this one just to find out would be a bit costly...

If there are any other options, please let me know.

An important requirement is that the system should be able to function autonomous because I do not want to depend on Homeseer (it's still windows).

I can only comment on the Proliphix:
From what i've read in the past the HS Plugin only works with Fahrenheit. And some other issues that make the Plugin not suitable for the EU.
Maybe you can make your own? API documentation is very good. A few scripts would probably be enough to change the setback value, but scripts are not my cup of tea. Regarding the UTP cable: yes you can, i have 1 UTP cable going to the thermostat for Ethernet and power.

Don't forget, yes you can run the Proliphix on 1 Ethernet cable beside the old thermostatcable which you still need for the actual ON OFF switching of your HVAC.

Thanks for the help so far.

I've found out that using two z-wave sticks (US/Euro) next to each other would require HS-PRO, which I don't have. So I think I'll go for the Proliphix NT100 I found on eBay.

For those working with Homeseer, I wanted to let you know I'm working with Homeseer to see if we can rebuild the plugin web API to support Celsius.

Hi,

Does this device also work with "modulerende CV's"?

Please update this thread when you have it up & running!

I managed to get the Proliphix Plugin working with Celsius.
Source code will be returned to Homeseer after which I suppose they will update it.
