Individual Room Controle

Post by amagi0823 »

In my home automation project I would like to control the temperature of every room separately. The plumbing still has to be done. What is the best way to achieve this? I will probably install a Nikobus system.

Thanks for the advice.

You could use a motorized radiator valve combined with a temperature sensor for each room.

Something like this for the radiators: http://www.centraline.com/EN/catalog/ec ... ?OSNO=HR80

It has a built-in temperature sensor. Just tell it what the desired temp should be and there you go.

I am also looking into this kind of stuff.

Als het niet gerepareerd kan worden dan is het niet kapot!

The problem with Honeywell is that it's not open system to control it from other systems.
Danfoss have a model what is working with zwave.
you can control this one from Homeseer or others systems using zwave

This year Honeywell has introduced a system (Honeywell evohome) in which you can control the temperature in every room individually and also send a signal to the heating boiler from every room. (When you open up a radiator-thermostat but the heating boiler is off, the room does not heat up).

For example you can heat up the bathroom only at times the bathroom is used. (Currently it is heated up every time the thermostat in the livingroom calls for heat).

It looks like a good system to reduce energy costs. See: http://www.evohome.info
It is using 868 MHz frequency to cummunicate between all devices.

Does anybody have experience with this? And can you really save a lot of energy with this system? Are there alternatives (from other manufacturers) available?
I read here z-wave.com/modules/iaCM-ZW-PR/readMore. ... =506462208 that Danfoss will be introducing a simular system soon.

Please don't post on old topics when there are newer ones.

For Danfoss: http://www.domoticaforum.eu/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=5438
For Honeywell: http://www.domoticaforum.eu/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4566
