Labium, any progress on the script? Or do you have it working an other manner?

It says what type of wash is going on, and the time it still takes. On the fridge it only shows degrees (which is normal) same for freezer. On the dishwasher it also says what type its cleaning with and the duration.

Latest version seems to be 4.0.16 which is at http://www.miele.de/media/haushalt/VG_D ... sion4x.bin You can update to this version via the web panel if you have at least version 4.0.1 i believe. If you need to upgrade to 4.0.1 you still need to do that with the seperate exe file which is no longer online. (same for the 4.0.1 firmware, which you need to upgrade first to from what i read on the other forums)

So i updated to 4.0.1. via http://files.domoticaforum.eu/Miele/xgw2000.zip , i found a forum user somewhere else who still had it. Also uploaded the latest 4.0.16 (as of writing) to the files share too.

Once you updates to 4.0.1 you can update easilly with the .bin file online via the gui. And when you have that one you can easilly click on the button "is there a newer update out?" so no more hassle with silly upgrades.

Do keep in mind that if you have issues that the update process gets you "broken pipe" messages, in my case it was running the udhcp daemon constantly (spawning it 25 times) which was causing a "hickup" every now and then. Because of that it failed. Doing a killall on almost all that doesnt seem to be o.s. related helped (killing the sleeps, daemons, and some .sh scripts) after that the update went ok.

A normal update should look like:

Code: Select all

So well since i dumped homeseer and went playing with fibaro.. i actually did something with my miele stuff now..

See the results:

When a device is turned on:

Screenshot 2014-03-19 21.08.40.png (27.41 KiB) Viewed 24064 times
Overview of all my devices connected and the status from top view:

Screenshot 2014-03-29 19.53.38.png (43.25 KiB) Viewed 24064 times
Cooking hub, it shows what level of power is used per "hub" i could also show remaining time and some other stuff but i just took what looks fun.
Screenshot 2014-03-29 19.56.49.png
Screenshot 2014-03-29 19.56.49.png (27.64 KiB) Viewed 24064 times
When a device is "active" and actually doing something, the icon turns into a red'ish icon.

So i must say it looks good and it works correctly now. Took my time to get a finished solution but its done ;)

Hello,

i know the thread is quite old, nevertheless i am still looking for the update tool to update my xgw2000 to Version 4. Actually i am running 3.01 and i have the (common) Problem that my Gateway becomes unresponsive regularly. Unfortunately the download link to the update tool does not work, not at the miele web page and also not in the Forum here.

Would it be possible that somebody here from the Forum sends me the tool by email.

Many thanks in advance.

Kind regards
Ralf

yes. exactly :-)

I started the JAR file, but obviously nothing happens.

It creates a log file with the following Content:

Checking parameters ...
Searching for Miele@home release in the working directory...
Miele@home release found...
Creating FTP manager ...

Did you customize something or are there any command line Parameters neccessary?

Kind regards

It worked pretty much out of the box for me. I can recall though, that if you upgrade from a lower version (too low) that you first need to upgrade to that version. But this has been a long time ago so i can't recall for sure or where to get a older version (its almost impossible)

Hello,

after reading this mailthread more carefully, i found the solution. I booted an Ubuntu Linux from a DVD, which was attached to an older "ct" magazin.

=> Setup under Linux runs basically, but also had to kill some processes, which were causing these error Messages, probably because some files are locked

Unexpected error while executing the initial commands: java.net.SocketException: Broken pipe

Miele@home release ./xgw2000_gateway_4.0.1.zip is uploaded on 192.168.1.5 for 74 seconds.

The good log file Looks as follows:

Checking parameters ...

Good that you got it resolved, its a pitty that the new system is not backwards compatible or remotely the same build as this. Meaning that if something breaks in 5 years it will mean you have to replace all equipment again (in theory)

Hi Erik,

probably in another five years we will have Miele@Home 3.0, which again may not be downwards compatible. Basically i wonder why Miele introduced the ZigBee Standard, instead of implementation of WLAN based commmunication thru TCP/IP directly into the devices.

I guess that you can order spare parts from Miele at least for ten years, so for me no big risk if something would break.

Personally i am also very disappointed, as we all spent a lot of time and Money to implement Miele@Home and now there is obviously NO possibility to control v1 devices with a v2 gateway or to plug v2 modules to older devices (like washing machines, dishwashers, ...).

Also the Miele app for the iphone was never updated over years and they never delivered and an ipad Version. Instead they launched a new app for v2 which cannot connect to my v1 Gateway.
Kind regards

Don't forget that in germany you have much more "stuff" they have a miele app too which i cannot download in the dutch ios store for instance. I used to have contacts in Utrecht @miele department, but those times have gone too. Pretty much because of the lack of improvement too.

A few days ago we ordered a Miele WMG 820 WPS and I want it to connect with my kickstarter Homey that hopefully will arrive within 3-4weeks.
I found that i need the "XKM 3000 Z" Zigbee module, Homey has zigbee onboard but i have no idea if its able to talk to the washing machine.

Do you guys have any idea if its possible to connect the "XKM 3000 Z" to any other gateway then the Miele@home?

Not that i am aware off, Miele used to be powerline, they changed that to Zigbee these days. I can't say that i am impressed by the device (which is overpriced too)
