A job on the todo list for much to long has been finished today.
Now everything in our garden is automated... except for mowing the lawn..[:D]

Even for mowing lawns automatically there is a solution: http://www.friendlyrobotics.com/.
I know someone running such a robot and it works perfectly.
You need to stake down a wire to the perimeter of the lawn (one time setup) and the mower will find its way, like the Roomba.

Nice things, prices mmhh, a calculation: garden job costs 20e/hour, one RM400 costs 1500e , so 1500/20 = 75 hours = 75/8 =- 9-10 days. 10 days is what you need to cut a 1000 mq plan area in 2 seasons. So after 2 summers you'll get an economical advantage. My problem is that area is NOT plan, so nothing to do. Then, 100 cramps on ebay = 22euro, 1 cramp each meter...... , 230mts perimeter wire = 115 euro....... others important values to consider.

This could be the good robot for me !

Hey Robert, Not sure about your situation but I have my fountain pump activate by the backdoor opening and when motion detected in the garden. It never runs on its own unless there is somebody watching
I am also using the SAIX12 and it is working 50 meters away from my phasecoupler. Pretty amazing. currently 3 in a box but it might be more soon. Now I control light and pump but want to extend it to irrigation like I have in my inside garden.
Lawnmowing is on my list but not in the budget...
Anyway nice to see your setup, thanks for sharing.

Hi Bastiaan,
For now i have a KAKU AWST-8802 located at the backdoor to control the pump and lights. And of course inside i can use the Asus TOP. I don't have motion detection in the garden yet, besides, most of the time my wife is just laying there in the sun, not much motion to detect

Just another garden application to be considered:
Sitting outside - the doorbell and telephone signal are not so loud and regular we will miss it . ... so both signals are on line in my HCB and when there is somebody at the door or phone ringing ... the pond (vijver) fontein pump will start if it is off ... if it is on it will stop for one minute ..... ...
