It adds both the disadvantage having to wear the RFID tag on you at all times (And think of it every time you change cloths) and visitors can profit less from your home automation (or you'd have to work with visitor tags that they most likely forget to give back). Besides, having motion detectors adds the posibility of having some kind of security. Which still is a possibility of course if you only allow tagged burglars to break in  .
But seriously: why prefer RFID over Motion sensors (do you have a Con, Pro list or something?)
I don't want to use it for motion only ...
The thing with RFID is that you can control stuff based on a person (or the tag that the person is wearing/holding)
From technical point this is just an awsome thing ...

I mean the same thing is possible with camera's and facial recognition but even I think that would be a bit overkill to implement in all rooms of the house.
I may add some motion sensors to the kit ... but not sure yet ...

I just want to have this cool feature Bill Gates also has.
When your person X you get a tag that is for person X and when person X enters the guestroom the light will turn on in the color person X likes and a music song will play that person X likes.

When person Y comes in the room other things will happen ...

Ok Iwan, I get the "cool" factor of this. Personally I live in a home with my wife, my son and my daughter and most of the time I am not alone. That means most of the time I have to come to an agreement with at least my wife regarding preferences of the environment. Never mind, it is at least technically a cool gadget and it motivates to think of useful applications. I hope you will share your type of usage on this forum. Looking forward to reading that!

I will use RFID from Carlo for security item (let's see HS plugin features when available). Tag is a distinctive sign to announce incoming of a KNOWN people, so if alarm is ON and outside some ms13 detects movements, this is a REAL PRE-WARNING. Else, if we are at home (our tags) and there's activity in the garage this means another warning and so on.
the special conditions for music lights are not applicable in a family settlement, but you could use tag to announce the incoming of one (generic) member of the family to turn on lights, music , heating under certain conditions like time, temperatures etc etc.

Lorenzo, all things you mention have to be accomplished by the use of HS, not the Plugin. The Plugin will provide you with a couple of devices representing the tags. You'll know whether they are present or absent. Don't count on the Plugin providing you extra features that will even come close to what you want to achieve; you'll have to use HS to accomplish that. Besides that, happy new year :)

I have about the same thing running here with the active rfid devices from ananiahelectronics
When i enter the house and my girl isnt home, I get notified of what time she left, and favourite music is started.
e gets home, its the same thing (but the touchpanel will also show where i am using cellID to lat/long

Rfid from Aniahelc. was the first choice but i remember that our (Domotica forum) class shopping showed some problems in their setting and use, this summer. So let's wait for carlo, i think that support will be FIRST CLASS !

I bought the 315mhz version of ananiah and have to say: Since I put it far away from my rfxcom reciever I havent missed more then 1-2 heartbeats in a row (for about 3 weeks now).
Before that I also had strange faillures that I just couldnt place.

Anyway, I'm still thinking about switching to Carlos' version depending on how 'secure' the ID's are.
