Today i finished with (part of) the hardware and the software to control the LED strips i started using today.

Not all LED strips are in use yet, but the results are very promising, based on the part that is finished now. I posted a small article on my weblog about how i control these LED strips.

Looks great.
Remote Led strip control.

Is next step also building the power adapter in the same unit?

I had some unused boxes but the adapter didn't fit in them with all the other parts; and i didn't want to buy larger, new boxes.
And the adapter doesn't need additional protection while the parts inside the box do, as you can see.
So this is how it will stay.

Very nice. What are the total costs of a wireless Chromoflex adapter?

How well does it respond, if I remember correct there are some posts on the forum complaining about the Chromoflex RF adapter mentioning it does not respond very well to changing colors and intensity.

The way i transformed a RS232 Chromoflex to wireless is by using the following components:

XBee 2mW Series 2.5 Chip Antenna: € 27,73
XBee Explorer Serial, $29,95 (€ 22,30)

With this i have a wireless Chromoflex that's very responsive; changes are instantly.

However i think that in our home, in daily practice, the LED strips will be set to a predefined value that gives the right amount of light and that the number of times the intensity will be varied, will be minimal.
On the other hand, i could dim the LED strips based on whether there is motion detected in the kitchen... ; i don't know yet, first there are a few other unfinished jobs that need some attention :)

Can a LED-strip be controlled over ethernet? What would be the easiest way to tackle this and can this be integrated in Homeseer?

Of course. Just to name a few, there are probably more:
- JeeNode & JeeLink (wireless, 868 MHz)
- Arduino & Ethernet shield (wired)
- Chromoflex connected to either a RS232-Ethernet server or a RFXCOM Interface with RS232 board

Add a small HS Plugin and you're done. Or maybe a script will do?
