Enormous price difference Europe and USA

i bought a marmitek sm 10 in the netherlands for 44 euro.
when i look at http://www.smarthome.com/4060/X10-Power ... ace/p.aspx , i see the exactly the same unit only for 110 volts for 12,69 euro = 17,64 us dollars.

at bigjohn op ebay kost hij zelfs 7,40 dollar = 5,34 !

that means in europe it is more then 3 times more expensive !!!!

Not sure about the powerflash
But most other have different components/setup, not crystal controlled (less accurate) and different frequency (310).
But still cheaper I guess

Most of the US stuff can be modified to make it an "European" model. There are a lot of sites available describing this..
