I'd like to know if it is possible to check the status of a switch with a 1-wire product. My idea is to connect a ligth-switch to a 1 wire product. When i push the switch is has to generate an event (it should be a switch which only makes contact when pushed). Does somebody know if this is possible or should i look for another way to control lighting?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Kockie,
Yes that would be possible to build with a 1-wire device, look at this control board http://www.midondesign.com/1WIO/1WIO.html
There are also 1-wire transistors like the 2405 who can do the job. You have to build some additional electronics to let it work. U think to use Xanura modules (X10/A10) is a much better option. for example the XANURA SAIX module can be build in behind the existing light switch. It can be switch manually and send a command or by for example by remote. See also the Xanura SAIX on my how page http://www.bwired.nl/How.asp
