Inbraak scenario's

Post by RDNZL »

Ik las net op het misterhouse forum een thread over scenario's welke mensen runnen op het moment dat hun installatie een inbraak alarm meld.

Dit is een stuk eruit:
---
I rolled my own alarm as well..

For triggering:
- I combine motion, contact, window break, and joist pressure sensors

Preventative:
- I have my lights outside the house do deliberate staged brightness
at night dependending on how close something gets to the house. I figure
if someone approaches at night, they will be fairly concerned about
coming any further with such a sophisticated light arrangment.
- If mh is in bedtime mode, the irrigation zones will turn on if something
is in the yard.

On my Alarm:
- Disable local control of light switches
- Flash lights (inside and outside) UPB light switches have some crazy
fast flash rates (very trippy in the house at night)
- Turn all irrigation zones on (wet burgler)
- Rad Shack Horn, Robodog (free sample back in the day), and variously
placed X10 Remote Chime boxes
- SMS to cellphones
- Email to cellphone with link to vid caps folder
- call cellphone's (via asterisk) with "alarm zone:x"
- page all house phones (via asterisk) with "police have been called..."
- Open and close blinds (confusion/funhouse tatic)
- start roomba cleaning ;)
.. I used to have a halloween fog machine by the front door.. My wife made me get rid of it though ;)

---

Inbraak scenario's

Fun to see if you have a false alarm and you are home sleeping! You probably think a world war 3 is starting.
But the message is clear and one I always show to people when the come over at the Bwired place. Once you have all the devices in place there are a lot of combinations you can create.

Blowing some new life in this topic.
I'm quite interesting on how you people handle alarms and how to avoid false alarms...

You've got 3 types:
1) Avoiding false alarms
2) When a burglar approaches your house
3) When a burglar enters your house

Which conditions does your system have to avoid false alarms?
I'm not particularly interested in hard-/software solutions, more the scenarios.

False alarms don't happen often. Most alarms are made by the residents self.
Install a good system and you won't have false alarms. Place reed contacts in all the windows and doors and you will have a real alarm when someone opens it.
Use additional Infra Red sensors only when you're away. In that case it's not possible to enter by accident a room in which such sensor is active.
If you want to increase the security level install vibration sensors at the window and door frames. You will get an early alarm when somebody tries to assault the house.

Detection in the garden is only reliable if you place a pressure system in the ground. Motion detection wont work! A lot of stuff is moving in the garden and you probably dont want an alarm when a cat, bird or leaves are moving.
